Sialkot, Pakistan, produces 70% of the world's footballs. But only a select few manufacturers hold FIFA licenses. To earn certification, factories must pass a series of demanding performance tests and pay high licensing fees. We visited the Bola Gema factory to see what it takes to meet FIFA standards and how manufacturers are cashing in on World Cup demand.

Wait the glued together ones are seen as premium? Without any explanation why it’s better than threaded ones?? While compared to other industries glueing something together is a clear sign of lower quality. 😂

I am happy that Pakistan is contributing to this beautiful game ❤❤ But sadly these workers aren’t getting paid much😢 Only the big brands are making lots of money

I live near Sialkot, most of my city people go to Sialkot everyday for the job doing in factories and I can bet most of the workers get 30-50k salary per month, which is roughly b/w 110-180 dollars and inflation is insane in Pakistan. FIFA should ask what salary they're paying to the workers with bank receipts.

theres one very good reason production is done in pakistan. taking advantage of desperation in order to increase profit margins. this is disgusting. this video is just a beautiful advertisement as to why capitalism is destorying the world.

Fifa.. the most corrupt organization in the world.. didn’t expect anything less from them

To make this video they have probably removed the children first.
But they do have a FIFA license, because FIFA doesn't care about child labour.

Pakistanis always go crazy over how they produce football, bro these capitalists get these balls done for cheap price and sell for 100X more.
Also im a local filmmaker, ive been hired by many factories around Pakistan to shoot a video for small documentaries or to show some investors abroad, how work is being done. In reality these labors are robbed from human rights, theyre not offered uniforms specifically designed for factories. Theyre under paid, have no days off, for videos they only shoot ppl who are well dressed, sometimes managers, who look healthy and not someone who is overworked and neglected. Child labor exists, theyre not forced but these kids need to learn some skills for the future and they are also underpaid, their families are poor, sometimes entire family have to work here together. You see these guys wearing masks, well that’s provided by the filmmakers bc they know that white ppl will be watching this video and will complain about the environment these guys have to work in. Women and young girls are often given easier tasks, they’re also working over time which they dont get paid for. FIFA may know about this happening bc so many journalists have raised concerns but they were turn down by the law enforcement. Point is that those who are profiting from this are the elites, i dont think these balls cost them more than 10 dollars or less and being sold for 400 euros and they think its some high quality balls.
