The Fundamentals of Caring | Official Trailer [HD] | Netflix
Video Overview & Insights
The Fundamentals of Caring follows Ben, a retired writer who becomes a caregiver after suffering a personal tragedy. After 6 weeks of training, Ben meets his first client, Trevor, a foul-mouthed 18-year-old with muscular dystrophy. One paralyzed emotionally, one paralyzed physically, Ben and Trevor take an impromptu road trip to all the places Trevor has become obsessed with while watching the local news, including their holy grail: the World's Deepest Pit. Along the way, they pick up a sassy runaway and a mother-to-be who help test the pair's survival skills outside of their calculated existence as they come to understand the importance of hope and true friendship.
I'm in a wheelchair and will NOT be watching this. Hell, I've gone ten years without knowing it existed.
Here's how it probably goes.
Handicapped boy has a shitty attitude, or so people think and claim he uses humor to deal with it.
Caregiver comes in, somehow changes the boy's attitude and they all live happily ever after.

No thank you.

What a dissappintment the JC word is used in so many movies. Do they get royalties for using these words?

I’m actually going to download Netflix specifically to watch this film. We are currently watching it in our Warriors group and I was sick last week, but it actually looks like a pretty good film, my group is for people with disabilities and chronic illness so it must be a good movie if my therapist suggested it.
@breannapiscitelli3941Amazing film, I've lost track of how many times I've replayed it. It's up there alongside other great feel-good films.
@bakkuappuGreat movie
@gechbackupWhat we need is a movie that addresses all the adults now having to care for their aging disabled parents because we are about to if not already have the silver tsunami coming our way. Like a Father of the Bride and now that Bride has to return home to take care of her parents.
@melissak8419I remember watching this movie in biology. DMD (Duchenne muscular dystrophy) is a sadly fatal thing to be afflicted with… also this movie was very uhm… pg 13
@Cherry-032Watch Selena in
Emelia Perèz
She’s so good 🫨😍
I pooped today!
@JohnSmith-qe6fbMy brothers had this exact disease. The oldest died in 1984 at 22 (I was 25) just after he graduated college. He was every bit as funny as Trevor and he would have LOVED this movie.
@TerryDee-i1tThis material opens new intellectual vistas. A book I read with akin topics was crucial in my personal development. "Kindness Unveiled: A Journey to a Happier Life" by why i live a happy life
@Bill0102I’m genuinely surprised there are so many positive comments raving about it, it kinda sucked ass lmao…
@_PrincessMaggot2023 and I love this film, portrayed the real beauty of life and somehow make me wake up from wasting my life and do something about it
i'ts cliche I know but I love cliche 😆

@JustNobody7My brother recently passed away on March 25, 2022 from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and this movie truly touched my heart 🥺❤️ I miss my brother so much 😭😭😭
@OhSnapItzCillaSelena Gomez is so wonderful! She is absolutely perfect in this movie: beautiful, "hot," honest - she's great!! Alex Huff & Paul Rudd are great too! Actually, all the characters are great! Even those seen only a short time: perfection! But all the cussing was A bit unpleasant, it seemed way over the top, though i've heard people talk that way
@pattimorey7766I'll watch for Jennifer Ehle alone! I so love her performances.
@fantasy_worldsEXCEPTIONAL
@jeetuji01010Craig Roberts is not talked about enough ‼️
@vkidquintinThis movie is very beautyfull but very inspiring as well.
@delsongalasinao706Selena 👏
@carroline5415Perfeito!! Porém alerta de gatilho pra quem não tem pai ausente ou que já morreu. Chorei horrores só pelos gatilhos mas ele é perfeito não tem cena de morte de fato com ator principal nem com os atores fundamentais
@mariatereza434Why do American movies always have to be so clichéd and cheesy!!! I've been bored with the same plot ever since "The Intouchables" about the brash patient and the nurse, who at some point doesn't mince words anymore and helps the patient out of his self-pity trap. This heroic portrayal of soldiers and pregnant women is so American. What is so glorious about killing people in other parts of the world? Or about putting another human into the world at the expense of other animals, despite massive ecological problems caused by overpopulation? But the pinnacle of this film is the "peeing standing up".I can only wonder about that. If this is supposed to be the definition of freedom or masculinity, then I just feel sorry for the directors.
@isameier9633felt so real, I'm STILL waituntil for him to call me back!!! lol Getn kinda pisd I havnt heard from em yet.
@wheelman3401The best thing about this movie Is that ant man (Paul Rudd) and Paxton (Bobby cannavale) is in this.
Also I seen this movie a couple of times and it is really good. Highly recommend this gem.

@DirtRoad83Appreciated the movie. Aspect in the safety of American workers is different to here in Australia, ie lifting of clients. Yet appreciated many aspects of this movie, especially the dignity aspect.
