The ancient Greeks & Romans did a lot during their times, spreading far and wide, which also led them to seeing a lot too. These sights included landscapes, other civilizations, and even exotic animals too, some of which are sadly no longer around today….

6:37 the picture shows a front headlock/guillotine choke, but the actual technique that was used was likely the RNC, rear Naked choke aka: Mata De Leon, the Lion Killer. The strangle from rear mount works the same on a Lion/dog/animal the same as a human.
0:00 Intro
2:37 Cows On Steroids (Aurochs)
Honest…fukk the romans and their empire
4:59 European Lions
8:48 Barbary Lions
Aurochs being super aggressive makes sense because the Cape Buffalo is one of the deadliest animals in Africa.
10:16 Giant Caspian Tigers
16:40 Tiny Dwarf Elephants In Greece?
I know we only recently started caring about animals, but how did we not learn from the Greeks and Romans? We didn’t want to see these animals for ourselves? I know this is 21st century thinking but fuck … these stories are never ending and depressing. Makes me want to watch “A Sound of Thunder” …
19:16 North African Elephant
24:37 Arabian Ostriches
Auerochs? This animal's name is spelled "Our-Ox" in German (and probably in English?) which means - more or less - "Wild cattle"

I appreciate the take on the anti-intellectualism that you're speaking on leading up to the ad for grounded news. We truly live in an age where "doing your own research" has replaced trusting experts who worked their whole lives studying science and medicine.

The greeks were storytellers…half this shit didn’t even happen 😂These are the same people that would say their ‘king’ was the son of Zeus or some sht…
@brandonthemyth6331Last Bos primigenius ( TUR in Polish)died in Poland in 1627 female and last male in 1620, Poland was a place on the earth where they survived longest. Drinking cup made from his horn was made for Polish king and was stolen 30 years later when Sweed's attack and ruin Poland. To this day they keep it.
@damnbroskyI got chills imagining how prehistoric creatures once ruled the Earth millions of years ago
@MegarScienceCalling any of these species “extinct” or even different from the ones still alive is a major reach for engagement. Bye 👋🏿
@sq7238Well that was very sad

@centaurtaurman5567Gotta love concerning art. That's some BS.
@petervanbuskirk500Those fucking Romans like ooohhh aaaawwww look at the elephant it’s a big beautiful creature! Put it in the arena so we can watch someone kill it!!
@JohnDoe-es4vlToo much nonsense in this vid to be watchable
@Cannon4545People don't realise this but those hunts where 150 lions were killed etc , were less like hunting parties and more like army maneuvers.
I have read that Mughals , in india did the same , I mean 12,000 men clearing forests , and charging at the animals , and destroying them.
This was when they were not on a campaign where the enemy was man .
In these " Hunts " , the enemy was animals .
Cannons , fire , field fortifications everything was used.
That's how large empires always went to "hunt" .
It was not hunting , but a military maneuver.
Romans were cruel, tbh very cruel.
And so was everyone else.
Apparently the Nazi’s tried to bring back the Orx with selective breading
@StralianBtwYou forgot to mention the Atlas bear, the only bear species native to Africa and also the Caucasian bison, which was a prey of Eurasian lions, Caspian tigers, Syrian brown bears and Steppe wolves alike.
@andres-863516:28 if I ever needed another good reason to despise war, this would be it..

@CourageToGrowwI had a book about ancient Rome that disgusted me so much I donated it. On the first night the coliseum opened they slaughtered 3,000 animals.
@saraloking5993No, European lion was not stronger and robust than African lions because they are the same species.
@SourojitBhDam , humans suck 😂 we lost some cool animals
@cain2kYou’re using a screenshot from a Korean drama of 1600s setting and saying it’s ancient China. Wrong place and wrong time. LOL
@PizzlierSo unfortunate that humans still exploit animals such as elephants to this day.
@kmuturi238Video starts at 2:40
@zackcarter6360Crazy to think that in some scientific circles, the advent of humanity can be considered an ongoing mass extinction event.
@zylaaeria2627while interesting, it's very europocentric; and I say this as a European myself.
