This was genuinely such a good and informative video, one of my favorite lore videos so far.

The origins of the Seelie/Angels as a group is something that people have often made up theories about but usually without any evidence that I know about. But perhaps I've missed it somewhere. I've seen a few different theories such as "created by PO" (as in this video) and other say they were something to do with the Moons, so presumably created by Nibelung. Normally I'd dismiss that as dragon glazing but as a theory it predates that stuff and goes back to things like mentions of a Lunar Palace since v1.0 and GoF dancing with moon sisters on the sands of Sumeru.

My own view is that the Angels arrived with the PO on the Ark and they were built on the human primordial home world the same as the PO was. They were created independent of the PO. As evidence for this notice that Angels have no duty to obey either Shades or the PO -- according to the Lord of Night in the conversation where Capitano "dies". Ronova agrees. It's an odd statement that might be dismissed as ambiguous if Ronova hadn't confirmed it. The Angels duty is directly to humans and not to Shades or the PO/HP. This seems contradicted by the idea that was later put about that the Angels are "slaves" of the PO or that their crowns enslave them. But that stuff seems to be a characterization by the Voyager to induce a revolt. Nicole still wears her crown which seems unlikely if it was a slave collar. Plus if the Angels have all rebelled against the PO why do they still serve humanity if serving humanity is only because of the order of the PO? The exact relationship between PO and Angels is complicated. There's certainly an element of the idea that Angels are the workers and Shades / PO are the bosses. But this relationship is not the fundamental duty of Angels.

The second clue is from "The Drunkard's Tale" from v1.0 Back then I wondered if it was just another silly fictional tale, but that book (unlike so many) never says it's fiction. Of course now in Nod-Krai it's confirmed as history. In that book the Seelie sings a song and explains to the Wolf that the song is for the fall of the Seelie race, however the song was not written for the Seelie but for the fate of the humans. In other words humanity had previously undergone a similar "fall" as the Seelies had just recently. This is a super odd statement that everyone ignores. At the time the Seelie speaks it seems that humanity had not fallen in some prior era. You could argue that humanity falls in the War of Vengeance as the ancient civilization is destroyed, but that happens at best at the same time, and most likely just after the fall of the Seelie. Therefore I believe the reference is to the destruction of the primordial human home world itself. This event is referenced 3-4 times in the game in passing as a sort of deep background event. if this is the correct interpretation then it means the Seelie/Angels were witnesses of that fall of humanity, which means they were created by the primordial human race the same as the PO.

So my theory is that the Angels are lesser artificial gods that acted as "crew" for the Ark while the PO was the "captain". As such the PO is the boss, but not their creator and obeying the PO is not their highest duty. This would make the Angels older than the Shades and aliens to Teyvat. It also explains how Angels could rebel at all while for Shades it seems to be all but theoretically impossible. The Angels' revolt is based on an appeal (by Voyager) to their higher duty to humanity. Essentially something like "you could do a better job serving humanity if you didn't have to listen to that idiot the PO". This sort of conversation about the loyalty of Angels and Shades is in the game twice now, (three times if you count the Voyager's temptations as recorded in Deep Galleries), so I feel the Devs might think it's important. It feels like Ronova says that for Shades a rebellion like that of the Angels isn't really possible. Shades can't just decide one day they will shift loyalties.

I suppose you could argue that the song was remembered by the PO and then taught to the Angels later. But that still doesn't explain why if the PO created the Angels why isn't their first duty to obey their creator just as it is with the Shades? If humanity created the Angels then of course their first duty IS to their creator.

A great video, never listen to those who dare instructing you which tools to use and which to not use specially coming from a generation that can only make art on a tablet with prefab colours/brushes while plagiarising Gravity falls artstyle.

Some of the details are a bit outdated after 6.3.

The story of the horrid PO invading Teyvat is also likely unreliable narrator. This is a theme of the game where we've repeatedly had vague ideas that Celestia or the HP is bad and then later on it gets contradicted. The dragons accusations against the HP may be unreliable. There are many examples but just to cover the "invasion" of Teyvat....
(1) We're never told the HP invaded. We are instead told (by Nicole) that there was a treaty between moons and HP.
(2) Therefore the dragons broke that treaty when they attacked the HP who was their legitimate ruler.
(3) The moons were left in charge by Nibelung so they had authority to proclaim that the HP was the new ruler. The dragons violated Nibelung's orders to obey the moons.
(4) There is no reason to think the HP ever fought the moons since the moons are never mentioned as parties to the war (in BS&M)
(5) There is no reason to think the HP ever pressurized the moons since the moons mostly vote among themselves to NOT help Nibelung when he returns to Teyvat.
(6) Even without the moons' treaty the law of dragonkind is that the most powerful rules and the PO was the most powerful, so the dragons broke their own laws.

Furthermore if the HP had not come to Teyvat the entire planet and everything on it would now be dead. Again the HP is recorded (by his enemies) as commanding the Angels to love all life on Teyvat including dragons (despite their rebellion). So it's hard to characterize the HP as some sort of conqueror who treated the dragons poorly. Quite the opposite he saved them all. Nevertheless the dragons make this accusation against the HP.

The story of the Voyager may be all unreliable narrator stuff. There's a lot of tells. Voyager is constantly meeting people and talking to them as if they are friends and then later that person's life goes to hell seemingly because they talked to the Voyager. And then the Abyss is involved each time. It happens three times and maybe a fourth.
(1) Nibelung - becomes corrupted - tries to destroy Teyvat, brings the Abyss to Teyvat
(2) Koitar - her entire race is destroyed conveniently just before the Abyss attacks
(3) Hyperboreans - rebel against their god, city is destroyed, end up tied to some bizarre breeding program
(4) possibly the Khaenri'ahns are linked to the Hyperborean refugees, again rebelling against their god and fated to bring about the Cataclysm

In addition we're told that Voyager never loved Koitar and basically conned her somehow (this is in the words of the Angel from Drunkard's Tale in the recent artifact set).
