The End of Roku

I never watch Roku even though I have a Roku TV, but I do watch Tubi a lot

We just can’t be left alone…we escape from high cable costs, cutting the cord, and now they have found another way to screw our budgets…..I won’t play their game.

Wait until Star Link gets rolling, it is going to raise hell with the cable companies and cell phone companies or anything hard wired?

I’m good with my Apple TV. Plus, I have Tubi on it.

I'm going to play. Wait and see with the changes in Roku.

Due to past experiences, I will never go back to Comcast for internet. I used to have them in Southeast Florida (Internet and TV) and their internet at times. Felt like old school Dial-up for premium prices. Their service was horrible and the way they maintained their equipment was a. Horrendous eyesore. One of the last things I did in the condo was to move the entire building to a fiber optic provider instead of Comcast.


Last year Comcast did put their cables in my neighborhood and I was shocked to see they were still using 1950s coax technology instead of fiber optic.

So, we just got Roku and it's ending? Alright, I'm going to sit outside and watch birds. They never let me down.

If my Roku stops working, Ill buy an Onn 4K streaming device from Walmart.

And Google is trying to control any box with Google store on it. Evil scumbags

If Roku and Tubi ever merge, that could be the end of Pluto TV...depending on whether or not they keep the ad model and avoid the subscription fees they put on consumers.

Think about what cable bundles used to be in the 80s and 90s. For forty bucks you could news sports, entertainment and locals for change. With the streamers, you paid for what you wanted. Now it's back the other way. The cables and premiums have bought off the streamers or mosy of them. We can never have nice things. My Roku has gone. Had them for years..

As a senior citizen with a limited income, I am concerned that ROKU will soon end up costing. I don’t mind commercials in place of charging for service. Watching commercials is free. Charging might end up being an exchange for food or meds, and that is an exchange I won’t do.

Realy disappointed i have always liked ruko since the veary beginning box. However now that their for sale you know we're all gonna half to pay for an upgrade & they new company will most definatly make it pricey & difficult. I'm realy upset

I thought Hulu would drop their app, but their content would still be available on the Disney+ app.

Seems like the more Americans look for alternatives to pay TV like YT and Roku, the more the media moguls redouble their efforts to add more commercials and ads. Would be shocked if this move is going to mean anything positive for the viewer, other than a increase in endless commercials, just like what has happened to the platform I’m typing on,

great now we will have to see the Republican Propaganda ads on Roku. god I hate Fox! Looks like I will be changing streaming services.

I better be able to still use my Roku devices. I'm currently using 2 and have an Ultra still in the box I want to replace my Roku 3 with. I love the Roku ease of use. Even when I had cable, I still had my Roku for streaming, not available on cable.

Buffalo PBS might be OK. They have so many Canadian donors, they opened an office in Toronto. I sure hope that PBS can hang in there. It would be a huge loss if they were to go away altogether.

We can not even use antenna TV on our ruko tv when we lose internet during a storm now.

roku only works with a vpn, to get it in CANADA. waste of time..for commerical tv... NOT.

i heard that in other countries the advertising is not as bad as here in the USA where it is a few lines of the story, AD, half a paragraph, AD, or annoying pop up ads during video playback on social media, etc. is that true?

What changes are potentially affected if you use a Roku TV?

I think that any radio, broadcast, cable, or print organization should be supported by tax dollars. If taxpayers want that kind of content, they will get it on the open market. None of the government media has quality content that we cannot get elsewhere for less.

Rumor: McDonalds is buying uTube TV😂 Will offer package to include the 100 least watched channels to get locals.
