The Dynasty Egypt Erased: Where Are King Farouk’s Heirs Now?

Video Overview & Insights

In 1952, King Farouk of Egypt sailed into exile aboard the same royal yacht his grandfather had used 73 years earlier. His 3 daughters — aged 13, 12, and 8 — were given 1 hour to pack. Within months, the Muhammad Ali dynasty that had ruled Egypt for 148 years was legally erased. 5 palaces seized. 11,500 pieces of royal jewelry locked in bank vaults. An entire family scattered across Europe. What happened to Farouk's children is a story almost no one tells. One became a typing teacher hiding her identity. Another earned a pilot's license and a ship captain's qualification before losing everything to illness. A third died so poor that the Egyptian government paid to fly her body home. And then there was the infant king — 6 months old when he was crowned, 18 months old when his throne ceased to exist. Where are they now? This is a researched documentary created for educational purposes.

This report is not built on facts as much as the narratives of the west about Egypt since Britain invaded Egypt 1882
The truth is so different, many of the dynasty stayed in Egypt

They blamed the king for their defeat against Israel, I'll say, it was God who protected Israel.
Nasser continued the hate against Israel until his death without seeing Israel's elimination.

The family of Mohammad Ali wasn’t Arab and wasn’t Egyptian. Their roots are not known. They were brought to Egypt by the British from Cossack nomads . Their mission was to destroy the Uttoman Islamic Empire, and isolate Egypt in preparation for WWI and destroy Germany

My Egyptian passport issued in 1954 says Kingdom of Egypt. On top is printed Republic of Egypt. It was live and let live with King Farouk. His great, great grandfather was very smart. Egypt went through an Industrial Revolution thanks to him. He wanted to develop Egypt and turn it like Europe. He encouraged mass emigration from all over the Middle East, North Africa and Euope. People dreamed of moving to Egypt. General Naguib was a wonderful popular man. Nasser used him as a Front; and then arrested him. He pretended Naguib was the leader but it was Nasser.

Egypt has historically been ruled by monarchs. The institution of the pharaoh could be reinstated, but in the absence of a clear living heir, the government would need to designate a family to assume the royal role.

Farouk was never a king of Sudan, nor did the Sudanese ever acknowledge him as such; rather, he was merely a puppet in the hands of the British, who fabricated this title to exploit the Egyptians as a tool for executing their nefarious designs. The Sudanese, for their part, continued their struggle against the British—a struggle they never ceased.

Again the English delivery service to the beginning of desmanteling a great leader from his country. King Farouk loved Egypt and had a great respect for the country of Egypt.
But hunger brings madness to take over. The English delivery of gamal the sycophants to power. Very big blow to the role of law and order.

Great video! I never knew these details, although I did believe the general story that Farouk was a pretender to the throne. This makes so much sense now. I never did quite understand why that family was so light-skinned. I figured it was because they didn't have to work out in the sun like regular Egyptians. Now, I know. They were damned Eastern Europeans! This is as crazy as the Japanese Fujimori family ascending to the leadership in Peru. I can see why Egyptians were so pissed off at him.

If only the Egyptians would go back to their original language that Islam forced them to drop after they were forced to convert to Islam. Egypt was economically very successful before Islam arrived. Muhammad destroyed the country! I was fortunate to have been offered a drive in King Farouk's Rolls Royce many many years later.

@disappointed4968

ever since his departure Egypt has not been the same , and the coup guys re consuming everything to themselves and in a result making the country economy weaker until it has reached to point that more than 60 % of Egyptians are under poverty line!

They were European Albanians, they had no connection with the native Egyptians, as they've always felt they were superior and the rest of the Egyptian people is beneath them

@nadiam945

King Fouad didn't speak Turkish. He spoke Arabic, Italian and French. He didn't give public speeches because he was injured by a bullet that damaged his throat. Later, the free officer propagandists claimed that he couldn't speak Arabic. Abbas Helemi II was the one who had the largest popularity among the Egyptian people from the Mohamed Ali dynasty

First of all, thank you for making the video. It has some good information;

however, there is some misleading information about claims of what King Farouk took with him into exile on board the yacht.

I know the Mohamed Ali family very, very closely, and I also know the admiral captain of the Al-Mahrousa yacht. Galal Alouba, who also became the first admiral of the Egyptian Republic's Navy in 1952.
In his own testimony, he denied having any gold or any money on board

All that they had was their own clothes and whatever jewellery they were wearing on them at the time, There were no boxes of jewellery as claimed in fact, they were only given six hours, and they were denied the opportunity to go back to Montaza Palace to collect anything.
They just left from Ras Etin Palace which is like the office and not where they lived.

There is a whole museum of the jewels from the royal family in Egypt here in Alexandria, and on top of it there were some Jewels that disappeared and then reappeared again in different places in Europe as well as in Egypt.

Farouk's sisters and his son have all worked modest jobs in Europe, like teaching etc.
If they had all that money and they took jewellery and money with them in exile, why would they need to work and live a normal, modest life , why would they not live like a royal family?

The remainder of that family that stayed in Egypt, like cousins and others, have all gotten their lands, real estate and anything they owned confiscated by the government.

In fact, many of them have had court cases to have some of the real estate and some of their lands returned to them after 50 years, and some even won these cases. Of course, many of these villas and smaller palaces are now government offices occupied by ministries, and they will not be returned back.

My great-grandma's house (one of the Khatoun sisters) is now a monument under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture. The good news is it has been taken care of and looks as good as it was intended.
