If the ship was real, we will never know what its actual name was. But it sounds to me like it was a chemical accident of some kind. The crew, including the captain, probably didn't even know what they were carrying.

It kind of reminds me of another video I watched on a different channel about airline disasters. One of their stories was about a south african airliner that crashed in the early 1980s after catching on fire somewhere in flight. The speculation surrounding that was that it was carrying explosives or illegal weapons. The south african government i had to do such things in the 80s and early 90s because of the international community putting an embargo on them.

The fact that there was no inquiry and nobody came forward suggests that there was a false flag operation. The ship was not supposed to be there and was not supposed to be carrying its cargo. Unfortunate for the sailors and crew who had no idea what they were carrying.

Anyway, this ship story sounds a lot like that. The crew didn't know what they were carrying, and they didn't know how volatile it was. Either it was improperly stored or there was a leaky container or something. Next thing you know, deadly fumes and an explosion.

As much as I would like to believe that it was a supernatural event, in this case, I don't think that. But as I said, we will never know the truth. Only the sea knows now.

probably gas leak or something like that. the ship being cold reminds me of a portable gas can that almost empty usually becomes really cold by itself.

In 1947, a cargo ship was discovered drifting aimlessly through calm waters in the Indian Ocean. When rescuers finally boarded, what they found defied all logic. Every member of the crew lay dead — sprawled across the decks, their eyes wide open, mouths frozen mid-scream. Yet the vessel itself showed no sign of fire, struggle, or damage of any kind. No wounds, no blood, no explanation. To this day, no one knows what truly happened or why every man aboard the Ourang Medan met his end in such terrifying silence.

The ourang medan was carrying something it shouldn't have, the captain and crew met their fate due to transporting the USSR sensitive materials ... Something they ultimately acquired anyway. Then it was buried at sea.. literally

5 Mysterious Ghost Ships

The Ourang Medan is a legend, a fantasy ship. No record of a vessel by that name has ever been found, nor did the crew ever exist. All of this has been proven. It's just a tale told by drunken sailors.

Ghost Ships of the Great Lakes: Lost Beneath the Waves (Full Episode) | National Geographic

There's no official report of a ship ever existing with that name, which makes me wonder? Why hasn't the straight of Malacca ever been dredged or searched? If the ship existed, it will be somewhere on the bottom of the straight of Malacca, which isn't a massive search zone, especially since we know that the ship, if it existed, was being dragged to port. However, there's nothing. No eye witness testimony, no inquest, no logs, no newspaper reports, nothing.

I'm puzzled as to why this channel is referring to what is well known to have been a fictional story as an historical event that happened. This video wasn't posted on April Fools Day.

In my opinion, the story of the Ourang Medan is just another of those stories old sailors tell in the dockside bars while drinking to scare the new blood.

My best bet is the same as the old video. The ship must've been containing that Tabun chemical and it sprung loose and poisoned everyone aboard.

I recall reading about this a good forty years, or so, ago. I found it quite fasciating as being related to the Devil's Jaw.

I'm guessing gas perhaps methane or carbon monoxide from the seabed?

A chemical leak caused this disaster. If the crew from the Silver Star and had remained onboard they would have suffered the same fate.

This is a fictional story. There are no official records of a ship called Ourang Medan existing, or any crew. Still a great video though.

I'm not sure if it was this channel because it was a few years ago but did you ever do a video over the black swine of Hampstead or sewer swine? I keep trying to find that video and I honestly don't remember if it was you who did it, or maybe someone else. All I know is the algorithm keeps saying the word sewer and keeps giving me videos of something called a fatberg and it's disgusting.

All right guys it’s been a couple of weeks. I’m really jonsing for a new episode and I’m sure thousands of more people are as well. What would we have to do to get a new episode every week? Absolutely love you guys.

@Prepper_mike

If ourang utan translates to the old man of the forest then the name of the ship is either "old man of Medan" or "the forest of Medan" and since it's a traditional thing to name ships with more female names... not sure what the naming verbiage is..😊

Is there a possible translation for the ships name? It is it like a person's name?

@JohnDalessandro-h8t

Why does it say “INDRINGER VAN BUITENAF” on the haul? It means ‘Intruder from outside’ in Dutch.
