`as a fairly accomplished tennis player now in my 60s, I haver switched to Padel. That's as real challenge and it took time to understand that often the obvious winning short is anything but... it simply gives the opposition another chance to dominate the point. However, watching some really great players you are often thinking 'oh of fuck sake hit a winner... a hard low (often slices to underspun) shot which will rocket low against the glass and stay so low and so fast it is impossible to return. But the top players do not do this. Maybe at that level the way they play is the only way. However, at my level (3.5ish) most of my opponents try to emulate the pros... and all that happens is Iand my former tennis playing partner blast low shots for winners when we get bored with the rally. Are hated for this. It's a fantastic and very ambiguous game.
