Loved the music of the 20's, 30's, and 40's till one of Hitler's goons shot me point blank in the face when I smarted off to him while they were lining me and hundreds of others up to get in the cattle cars to be taken to you know where. That was 1944. Twenty years later I was born into another body that had the black bullet mark on my face when I was born. It faded without a trace in three days my mother said. I'm still singing this music of my past life. I began imitating the voice of Bessie Smith when I was six years old as I listened over and over to her song Put it Right Here (or you gonna keep it out there). I seem to have a talent for capturing the essence, lilt, and poetic timing of many of the crooners from the 20's to the 40's. No other music interests me. Thank you putting this music on Youtube. It thrills me.

@michaelgolden9193The "Charleston" was only ONE specific dance and ONLY one specific song in 1925. To call all 1920s dance songs "Charleston" is incorrect. Search for Isham Jones Orchestra Charleston, which is the original for the actual music and first featured in the 1923 Broadway Musical "Running Wild".

@killgora1My dad was born in 1926; my mom was born in 1928. Dad died in 1979; mom died 2021. I’m blessed to be listening to the music my grandparents likely listened to during this time period. I’ve always felt I was meant to have lived during the 1920s, as I love everything during this decade — the formal dress, the speakeasy, the automobiles, the Art Deco, the flappers, the gangsters, the music, the simplicity and artistic nature of creativity! Thank you for taking me along on this road-trip into the past!!!!!!
