The Best Apple TV Series Nobody Is Watching

Video Overview & Insights

Apple TV has built one of the most ambitious content libraries in streaming, but beyond Severance and Slow Horses, most of it goes completely unwatched. Here are 15 of the best Apple TV series that deserve a far bigger audience.

You forgot Sugar!

— @iMagdog1

From cinematic spy thrillers and psychological mysteries to sharp dark comedies and devastating true-crime dramas — these are the underrated Apple TV shows nobody is talking about. If you're looking for your next binge, this is where to start.

📺 SHOWS IN THIS VIDEO:

“Bad Sisters” is fire, too… I haven’t seen many people talking about it though

— @ChiefTheTruth

Calls · Widow's Bay · Home Before Dark · Tehran · The Essex Serpent · Carême · Criminal Record · Shining Girls · WeCrashed · Bad Monkey · Bad Sisters · Five Days at Memorial · Dope Thief · Disclaimer · Drops of God

TIME CODES:

Sorry guys but I didn't like Widows Bay at all.

— @Paramita-v8x

00:00 - Intro

00:26 - Calls

This guy called Widow's Bay a hidden gem.. literally EVERYONE watches it. How is it hidden? lol

— @DwellerDan

01:56 - Widow's Bay

03:24 - Home Before Dark

Criminal Minds is awesome. Bad Sisters is incredible. Bad Monkey I still need to finish but I like it.

— @bradanderson7105

04:52 - Tehran

06:38 - Carême

Dark Matter should be on this list. It’s my favorite Apple TV series thus far.

— @garyoak8247

07:52 - The Essex Serpent

09:29 - Bad Sisters

I’ll pass on the mossad propaganda but I’ll take you up on the others

— @jamesmejia2955

11:01 - Criminal Record

12:36 - Shining Girls

Thank you for an excellent list of watchable TV series... I think I'd missed most of them.

— @x00380x

14:05 - WeCrashed

15:35 - Bad Monkey

Tehran is apt for what’s going on now. “What happens when the plan falls apart on day one” sounds pretty familiar.

— @2giantmonsters

17:03 - Five Days At Memorial

18:40 - Drops Of God

"Extrapolations" is missing on this list. Great near-future SciFi about people dealing with climate change.

Also "Sunny", about a woman in near-future Japan, dealing with a helper robot that is hiding some secrets.

"Time Bandits" is a great reboot of the Terry Gilliam movies from the 80s, which improves the original in many ways.

If you have kids, "Curses!", "Wondla", "Wolfboy" and "Harriet the Spy" are a must (along with Fraggle Rock, but that one probably isn't obscure)

— @3faltigeralexandro

20:17 - Dope Thief

21:49 - Disclaimer

Dark Matter is an excellent and tight 9 episode series.

— @russelljackson8153

23:24 - Outro

Whether you're hunting for the best Apple TV series to watch right now, hidden gem TV shows that flew under the radar, or Apple TV recommendations beyond the obvious — this list covers it all.

5:00 of course israel is gonna throw in some propaganda

Tehran was excellent

Thanks for the recommendations…I have eight new series to watch. Disclaimer is sooo good and Shine Girls still not sure how I feel about that one.

I'm sure these shows are good, but I think people are just sick of high tension, overly violent thrillers or sadistic mysteries, and that's why no one is watching. 90% of all the shows available today are these kinds of shows, and the audience is sick of seeing the bad side of everything, so they don't watch. Instead, they complain that there's an infinite supply of content and absolutely nothing to watch, and they're not wrong.

Bro forgot Dark Matter

Hello Tomorrow! Hawking timeshares on the moon in a retro-futuristic world makes for some great sci-fi! An excellent cast brings it to life.

Great recommendations!!! Windows bay is the one i have watched and greatly enjoyed. Will follow through your watchlist thanks

I loved Calls! Watched season 1 of Criminal Record. Excellent cast. Excellent production quality. But geeez! The show is so difficult to understand. The secondary characters that would typically be considered disposable subplots are actually essential storylines. You really have to pay attention to this show or you'll lose track of what's happening.

Widow's Bay was very good. Matthew Rhys is unstoppable. And the casting in general is solid.

Very funny, quirky and creepy show. (watch for the people in the mirror!)

I’m shocked Slow Horses isn’t on here. I love that show and binge all the episodes. Loved Servant, Severance, Silo and Bad Sisters. Widow’s Peak is on my list and I need to finish Pluribus and Murderbot.

I really loved Home After Dark, Five Days at Memorial, and Criminal Record. I just started Windows Bay and Cape Fear. I have more on this list that I’m planning on watching. Apple has plenty of gems to watch.

Widows bay was the number 1 show every week.

You forgot SEE starring Jason Momoa. In a sea of ‘dystopian future’ shows, SEE is strikingly original, with great storylines, action sequences & performances. It also features Dave Bautista, Alfre Woodard & a couple of actors I was not familiar with but who give breathtaking performances.
And agree re Tehran. Despite what’s going on currently, all the existing series were shot before the current troubles. The last season was almost 2 years old b4 airing on Apple due to the current Middle East conflict. It’s an incredible series no matter where your loyalties lie. And a phenomenal lead female character.

I think I'll pass when a Mossad agent is the hero of the story

Widow Bay is amazing and so is Servant

'Widow's Bay' is very, very good. I was so impressed. There will be a second season.
I liked 'Home Before Dark' as well. "Bad Sisters' is a lot of fun. I watched both seasons. This ensemble of female actors is perfect. 'Criminal Record' was also good but slow paced. I think the English do the very best mysteries. So many layers. Loved 'Bad Monkey'. It is fun, Vince Vaughn is his usually charming self and all the actors do a great job. 'Five Days At Memorial Park' was a peak into how hard it was for so many during that time. You stay on the edge and really feel the pain of decisions that have to be made.

1.Window's Bay
2.Maximum Pleasure Guarantee (the best acting on any actor by Tatiana Maslany)
3. Sugar.

Please watch three in that order. You will thank me later.

In an era when absolute maximisation of subscription conversions and ravenous attention hijacking, it's really amazing that AppleTV has sought to create brand new shows, and excersise true artistry. It's a treasure trove of somewhat hidden gems.

@360Fov

Loved Shining Girls! One of those series that makes you want to watch again to see what you missed the first time.

Just finished the widow's bay. Worth to watch

The problem with Apple TV is that the app makes it so hard to find anything. It initially appears that there is very limited content available as the navigation and categorisation is poor. Also mostly when you search for something, it is behind an additional paywall. Netflix and Prime display a vast array of content on the home page
