Needed to come back ro tell you that I wound up checking out a few artists mentioned here and completely LOST it over 23wa! I bought the digital version after a quick listen and after a proper listen through, I went back and bought the CD! This is music that I thought about conceptually for at least 2 decades, and now someone has gone and made it a reality (heartfelt vocals over glitchy production)! So, thank you for that. Finding new music to be excited about is so much fun! Cheers!

the way you described the matsui album, I can't recommend Alexander Panos's Nascent enough. Another album involving a lot of electronic noises and an almost intelligable voice. Really beautiful and life affirming.

I feel like I just watched a video about select albums from RYM's top 100 albums of 2025. Not that it is a bad thing, I think I have about 20 albums out of my top 75 albums from 2025 all residing within the top 200 albums of RYM's 2025 charts.

Rosalia's Lux album is the best so far this decade. People have a grudge against this album that's why they choose all this metal and rap rubbish instead of recognising an album of pure genius like Lux. Also, that Geese album is truly dreadful, the guy's voice is horrible. â˜čïžđŸ‘ŽđŸ’©

Excellent work! I really love EOTY lists that are wildly eclectic, somehow messy and full of weird surprises, filing obscure bandcamp stuff next to big major releases. Even though we've got almost zero common ground (I've made a top 25 list myself and there's not a single overlap with your list) I enjoyed this a lot and watched the whole thing through with pleasure, making notes. Will definitely check out weed420 and this new Elysia Crampton project - these two I'm the most curious and excited about after watching your 2025 review. I'm often too vinyl/physical focused in my listening habits so I tend to overlook stuff that "only" gets a digital release (or perhaps I'm just getting too old for this shit, haha...). Also will give Anna von Hausswolff, Ramleh and Sudan Archives another spin...these ones didn't really do it for me in the first place but hearing your reviews made me want to re-visit them again. So, thanks for this and everything. I really appreciate all the work and effort and enthusiasm that went into this.

i finally have the opportunity to say this but i owe you so much for your lists. i remember stumbling upon one of them and not recognizing a single artist there (i was a real newcomer to music at that time) and it incentivized me to explore more of this medium that now is a major part of my life. fast forward to today and i consider myself pretty knowledgeable on this field and have listened to close to 200 albums this year alone! still have yet to fully finish the list but i already know there's gonna be some great stuff i missed. happy new years and thanks for helping me start being interested in music!

great to see the saorise dream album on here. Definitely one of my favourites from the year i didn't expect to see on anyone's list. (Also, saying unmusique is better than fete de la vanille is crazy imo)
