The Beach Boys - 'Til I Die
Video Overview & Insights
"Til I Die by the Beach Boys, from the album 'Surf's Up' (1971). A personal favourite song of mine. One of Brian Wilson's most personal Beach Boys songs, inspired by an existential moment Brian experienced on the beach during a very dark moment in his life. A beautiful harmony arrangement on this song. Enjoy.
1 year without him </3
Check out some of my own music if you're interested. Blood Oranges: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKFmaykAoVI&list=UUFpo_ThmXSOUpp-uNlceG2w
I finally realised that we live in a world without Brian Wilson - I´m shocked!

@n.q395My favourite Beach Boys album art.
@keaton718My two favorite Beach Boys songs on the same album, Til I Die and Surf's Up.
@misutovihow deep is the valley? how long will the blow? how long will the blow.
@zlightninOne of the last great songs by Brian Wilson - still had his voice and his musical powers - soon to be lost forever - on a good BB album made unlistenable by Mike Love's horrible contribution
@JackThomas-t4mI'm working on myself... TY Brian. I Wont be those things anymore.
@blankwavemessiahTragic
@VelocityDesignComfortThe complexity of the beautiful harmonies combined with the message of the words blow my mind.
@rdlewis3616My favorite part has always been at the 1:39 mark when 3 different voices overlap. Not sure if it was done with editing or just live butnits amazihg.
@MitchellSmith-w4lWishing you were here.
@vincentschaffer1614It didn’t really help, but it’s nice :)
My mom passed but it wasn't this song in my Dream but another song by the beach boys I dont know which song specifically because I was never a die hard Beach Boys fan but I do know that the song played in my dream and it most certainly without a doubt was the Beach Boys. I think Wilson was reaching out to me trying to comfort me with his music.
The music was glorious oh how I desire to convey it but this stuff was made for me specifically but you know the feeling
Beach boys are a top five band inarguably.
@mcadminbro2139Playing this for our cat Bobo as we put her down. Hope she finds peace. RIP Bobo
@MitchellSmith-w4lThese things will be until we live...
@MrBums1979Barber Shop Quartet sound, a tough listen!
@blombidobadila8084the chord changes after 1:40 just invented Stereolab and High Llamas 2, 3 decades before
@freudastaireI aspire to reach this level of songwriting
@FlunkassThat moment when a song is so good that you drown in the mood of it and you don’t mind repeating it for yourself.
But I gotta slow my roll though. A song only sounds better if you give it its space. This song is just so good, it’s like having a sigh after a long day.
This song was used (just a portion of one verse) at the tail end of the Brian Wilson biopic, “Love and Mercy.” It pulls you into the depths of Brian Wilson’s mind, emotions, suffering, and creativity.
@kristindickerson3077Is there anymore poignant line than “I lost my way,hey,hey,hey.”
@andrewhudson8966Love Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys. Have seen “Love and Mercy” multiple times. Absolutely hypnotic and I’m not easily hypnotized. RIP Brian, Dennis, and Carl. And Melinda.
@kristindickerson3077Stunning 😇
@teresahogancartwright8063I wanna cry

@TerraceviewBrian rarely wrote the lyrics to his songs, but he wrote both music and words to this uncanny Beach Boys song, one of their very greatest and most beautiful. .
@rogernetzer1054Wrote his own funeral song. Perfect.
@williamhare9776Thank you Brian.
Thank you for everything.
Pet Sounds sounds timeless but this was completely AHEAD of it's time. Wow. It sounds like it could've come out in the last few years.
