I think Tesla will still need a breakthrough in inductive charging to really make an impact with FSD in cars and trucks

Tesla semi.....LOL
Musk has been promising 1 million on the road since 2019. There are around 100 operating. All in test programs

1. PepsiCo / Frito‑Lay
The largest known operator. Part of the early pilot fleet.

2. DHL Supply Chain
Received its first Tesla Semi in 2025 after a pilot program.

3. Other pilot partners
A few additional companies have tested or received very small numbers, but none have reported fleet‑level deployments.

4. Private owner‑operators
Zero.
Tesla has not sold the Semi to individual buyers. All units have gone to corporate fleets participating in pilot programs.

The problem is this idea sounds good on the surface, but as soon as you encounter traffic the trucks lose sight of one another, and then when they get off the exit/offramp it becomes problematic because they will now have to navigate streets on their own (lights won't cooperate). So the "following" / convoy strategy needs work.

Ban self-driving semi's until investigators (NOT Tesla!) figures out why that self-driving Model 3 drove into a house in Katy TX at a high rate of speed, killing the elderly homeowner.

I want a 6-seater CyberTruck! All they need is a front bench seat.

Just call it what it is, lidar.

@wushuhsu

Uhh. Anyone wanna discuss TRAFFIC at any point here? The last thing we need are 50,000 new 18 wheelers on the road. And 20 million new self driving cars. It already takes me an hour to go 10 miles in most major cities after 2pm. Nobody will ever be able to go anywhere.

@K4B820

10:14 imagine that car with unsupervised FSD. You're whole family could just go to sleep and wake up at a destination you normally would have flown to.

Great video on the Tesla Semi. We don’t hear enough about this so thankful you put something together.

can't wait

This is about what the truck is towing; FSD only functions if it knows what is attached behind it.

Scary shit

Why would Tesla be ramping up for Model Y-L when Elon plans to discontinue production of all passenger vehicles except the Cyber truck?

I wonder what makes the Boring company different from its competitors on a fundamental level. Tunnel boring machines have been around for a long time so what was it about the old system that made them so inefficient?

Super exciting 🎉

@DouglasJMark

They need to make a 7 seat model YL in the U.S. 6 passengers is not competitive with the market.

Please don't say killer feature in this context. 😬

You said it right… Tesla has killer feature… it’s called “Six Feet Under” all the people Elon has literally killed with his lies. But since is not your mother, all is well till it isn’t. Got it.

Hi, I am so sold on FSD. We have a 2021 Model 3P (HW3) that we bought with the optional FSD. For over a year now, we’ve had FSD drive us over 99% of the time. It is pure frigging magic even on v12.6.4. And to ponder Tesla working on putting FSD on semis, well we are totally all for it! We can’t wait until the release of v14 lite! Tesla and Mr. Musk, you guys totally solved the problem. Many, many congratulations. Cheers!

Wrong, the semi will be like jet autopilot and will bring down insurance cost but will have a driver. when its it time to "land" or "take off" the driver will take over. This AI will make roads safer but they will not be autonomous.

@howlinhauler
@

I hadn't seen anything about this in the mainstream in awhile. Glad that its still being worked on. Hopefully this will help to eliminate the carbon footprint of the industry.

@chadney68
@

Self-driving is great.

Having said that, Tesla cooks its safety stats. Tesla's "safety statistics" compare airbag-deploying highway miles in brand-new vehicles against a national average that includes minor fender-benders and decade-old cars in cities and not just highways (where accident rates for all. cars are lower). By matching low-risk driving conditions against the entire U.S. fleet, the company presents an inflated, "apples-to-oranges" picture of autonomous safety.

Another growth sector: tires, which will wear faster, and robotic centers that will change them quickly.

If it E EVER actually works (and Elon's refusal to add LIDAR so it can see through fog and dark means it can only EVER be as good as a human. A Proper FSD would allow one human in a lead semi control (sorta) three semis in a wagon train. Two drivers, one sleeps in the cab (also not yet) while the other stays in the Federally mandated driver's seat. But we are FAR, FAR from that scenario...

@thesoundsmith
@

The YL is a 4 + 2 seater

@markeden767
@

FSD for semi will dramatically reduce the cost of freight - cheaper than rail. Assuming competition will cause the freight companies to lower their prices, it will lower the cost of living.

@carlkelley4566
@

The number one technology that could reduce driver fatigue is allowing drivers to get good sleep - in-cab power while parked, reducing noise and vibration. No one cares about fatigued drivers until someone dies.

@AVWest
@

RIP scam compagny Nikola Motor with No real costumers 😂

@mikafiltenborg7572

The Tesla trucks in a convoy mode can drive really close together in that the lead truck can send to the follow on Trucks when it is breaking and so they can break at the same time as if they were one vehicle.

They could also spread out if that is needed as well and then close in there spacing when that is needed.

@RonLWilson
@

I think with the fleet of cars and trucks, Tesla has from the semi to the Robo taxi or cyber cab. He will soon take over the delivery industry for everything ground-based. Every single one of his vehicles can be used in someway.

Dichotomy in Futuristic scenario between both natural biological human beings and non-biological data collected sentient beings by AI! The Life of a non-biological sentient robots in a biological natural human sentient beings begins with a war of monopoly OR harmonious organic sentient beings in upcoming future?

Are you still aware of yourself as_I am still exists in past,in present or in future too? Then, you are definitely caught up in an idea of human natural destruction!
