@JimMacDougall-r6iNOT highlighted enough regarding FSC for Teslas. FSC is never TIRED. It is never distracted by a cellphone, music or other non driving distractions. It is never stressed because it needs a bathroom or is hungry. FSC never exceeds the speed limit, and I estimate that it reduces it's speed if driving conditions warrant it. Never pushing safety because of a schedule. All these are major factors in accidents. I also expect that during the transition from human driven to FSC that the vehicles will be extremely focused on Interstate travel. These roads are much less complicated to drive than the Tesla cars with FSC are having to navigate on city streets with pedestrians, bicycles, ebikes and other things you encounter that are extremely rare on an interstate. Now consider that the US has a major shortage of CDL drivers. We are seeing serious accidents and other issues with low quality CDL drivers. Watched the channel Everything Auto. The tow truck was having to tow/ reposition a Semi-Trailer. The driver didn't really speak english. They definitely were driving in a location completely unsuited to a Semi/Trailer rig. Most shocking of all is that the during the event, the tow truck was holding up the trailer while navigating turns. The truck driver simply needed to reverse down the center of the road (the road was completely closed by LE during the rescue), Shocking was that the truck driver was NOT able to consistently reverse down a closed road. To stay efficient, safe, and save money, Class 8 vehicles with FSC will be extremely helpful. Imagine a truck coming off the port of Los Angeles and that truck/trailer driving to a regional hub in Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska, Illinois and no driver is required. The truck drives 450-500 miles recharges or switches to Semi with a full charge and continues down the road. Safely and without rest stops, bathroom or meal breaks. Instead of several days or driver teams, the Semi will drive straight through as fast as road conditions allow. This will be an enormous cost savings to transportation of most goods in the United States.
@AmFirst1776Why do you feel the need to stretch these out sooo long?? Things repeat constantly! Shorten them up and make them more interesting. These are compelling subjects.
@NewJerseyPops-s5i$ 0,15 ??
@NewJerseyPops-s5iadding Robotrucking to the services portfolio would be highly profitable particularly due to America's chronic shortage of commercial truck drivers.
@DavidCoxDallasTesla has the technology, but execution has always been the hardest part. Do you think the Semi will finally live up to the hype, or is this another overpromise?
@JohnRonaldHallI feel like Tesla fans are celebrating features that haven't been proven at scale yet. Is that really enough to call it a game changer?
@Thomas-Paula-HernandezHonest question: would you trust a fully autonomous Semi driving next to your family on the highway? I wouldn't... at least not yet.
@NathanElizabethHughesWhy is everyone focused on FSD? Fleet operators care more about uptime, maintenance costs, and total cost of ownership.
@SeanTylerKellyElectric trucks make sense, but the charging infrastructure for long-haul freight still feels like the biggest obstacle.
@EjoseyoungTesla is great at making impressive presentations. I'll be convinced when I see thousands of Semis on the road, not prototypes.
@Walter_WardThe real question isn't the interiorโit's whether the battery can handle years of heavy-duty hauling without massive degradation.
@christianwardBAm I the only one who thinks FSD on an 80,000 lb truck is a completely different challenge than on a Model Y?
@ethanrodGriguezEveryone keeps talking about the new cabin, but if Tesla can't ramp up production, none of these upgrades really matter.
@AlexanderEthanCoxYou notice that flat bed and they said was load low center of gravity. How about a live load thats not low center of gravity. Where you going to charge those things. Only good up to 500 miles as of now. Power grid we have now wont handle that. Lot of you commenting have never spent any time around a truck let alone drove one.
@chrisrains518Tesla is simply the Best. And improving every day or at least weekly, because they actually care.
@xelzbrod...3533The Tesla Semi is not a proven unit yet in the real world.
Elon's repeated failed timelines and over promising under delivering have been the most damaging impacts.
The truck has advantages but still misses the mark for the broad market.
Zero bunk , sleeper accomodation for overnight interstate transport and the lack of charging is the reason the Tesla and other EV trucks have not been snapped up .
Tesla is 10 years late to the EV class 8 truck scene.
Europe are 10 years ahead.
Tesla is playing catch up.
Back to base and drayage operations in the USA are the initial markets for all EV until strategically placed charging stations are available on key logistics lanes.
Not all transport needs to be bullet shaped for Aero.
Cattle and livestock , deer and bear - none of those critters give a toss about the shape of a truck when they jump out in front.
Animal strike is a real world experience for most interstate and rural area drivers, ask drivers don't just guess or keep telling drivers what they need. That Arrogance by Tesla is not helping.
A freeway princess- The Tesla looks like it will be a write off if was to hit a deer at speed.
Logistics companies and drayage companies will flock to EV class 8 once the charging is covered.
The fact you keep telling drivers that they will lose their jobs because of autonomous driving is not helping either.
Smarten up because you look like dicks.

The funky green is retro-avant-garde!
FSD in the semi would allow platooning. 3 or 4 trucks could follow a lead truck with a single driver. How many of those accidents were caused by the other driver doing something stupid next to a truck? The driver facing camera can detect when the driver has reduced capacity and take appropriate actions.

@boutrossassine9938Just recently, UN have created rules for FSD as guidance so countries can establish regulations. Included is apportionment or accident ownership.
@pieman2656"Ground Truth" -- During WW2, Travel Agents had valuable experience for reconnaisance interpreters. Recon interpretation began with interpreting the image that was captured on film. Infrared images and radar images are very different from photo images. The next consideration was the scene, was it altered by camoflage? Coal dust could hide a river or a stream. During WW2, the entire Suez canal was even hidden by a Royal Magician (Jaspere Masklyne).
The best information came from travel agents who knew the what the target looked like before it was altered,
During WW2 the British made a vital factory appear as though it was totally destroyed by German bombers, The allies knew the resolution of the German cameras and allowed the reconn confirmation flights but only at higher altitudes. What Elon is doing is incredibly good.
Just come out and say it - Tesla is advancing light years ahead of the competition.
This makes perfect sense, if want to remain in the lead, you've got to outshine everybody else.
Is Tesla using data from its cars to help the Semi improve its self driving abilities ?
@edwardnaclerio7690Can the Semi back into loading docks and tight spaces on its own ?
@edwardnaclerio7690Thank you for this ai, minimal effort garbage so I can block your channel. You made it easy.
@dsan2910FSD is better than human drivers now this is about saving life and economy growth
@isaacmuwanga5707AI needs to work with people
@nj1nj169I'm dubious about the whole thing working.
It's possible, but i think once it leaves cities, it can go autonomous, but needs to go to a truck stop outside the city to complete its journey through the more challenging aspects of city urban driving.
Imagine how much safer it will be when all vehicles can communicate with each other

@nerialex9423Interesting video. The FSD part is exciting, but I still want to see more real-world testing.
@ericmorgan2007Can't wait to see these on highways in a few years if everything goes as planned.
@alanmOendozaThe stability control demo on ice was probably the most impressive part for me.
@zQacharyreyesWhether you love Tesla or not, this technology is worth paying attention to.
@thomasjackson1997The low operating cost alone makes this thing hard to ignore.
