It wasn't just her physical transformation; it was her complete and utter inhabitance of the character. A woman at the end of her rope, clinging to sanity, smart as a whip and yet terrified of what she knows is coming, and of what she's seen. Every facial expression and physical movement in Hamilton's body speaks to both trauma and strength. I remember watching T2 as a kid and being shocked by her unvarnished, crazy-eyed performance, lacking any and all vanity. The character was a warrior, psychologically scarred but with more fight in her than a drowning animal, and Hamilton played every inch of it to the hilt. It's a screen performance for the ages.

From T1 to T2, Sarah had one of the most compelling character arcs ever. From timid, frightened waitress to badass mama bear soldier.

My favorite movie ever but as much as I love and adore Arnold, it’s a sin that she got paid a fraction of what he made. There’s no movie without either of them… same goes for Robert Patrick, Edward Furlong, Joe Morton, Earl Boen and the list goes on!

I love that it was Linda Hamilton who essentially set the tone for how Sarah Connor's character developed between T1 and T2 - "I want to be crazy" worked so well. Yes, James Cameron and his team had to actually write that in, but the fact that she wouldn't sign for T2 unless she had moved on from the little lost waitress role makes me love the film more.

My favourite scene for the "crazy" stuff - and there was plenty, especially in the asylum itself - was actually later when she essentially turned into a human terminator and went to end Dyson at his home, and then realised what she was doing. Not only a superb physical transformation but amazing acting too.

Holy cow - she started that training two weeks after giving birth and ended up like that? I was already super impressed with her transformation, but that is nuts. Mad respect.

Only Linda Hamliton could play Sarah Connor she killed in this and she was like female Terminator in Terminator 2 and even Arnold was impressed with her bodybuilding . She was the best action hero and so was Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley in Aliens. Carrie Fisher Princess Liea in Star Wars. I like Strong Women Kate Winslet in Titanic as Rose Dewitt Bukater. Alica Vikander also trained for Tomb Raider and she is an oscar winner.
