Everyone is saying theyd prefer Fed but Federal has no parole system. You do your whole bid. State its common to do as little as a 3rd. It just might be a slave farm (private prison). Just dont commit the crime in the south, almost all the worst examples are from there.

Those numbers are off as far as race, I’ve been to them. The reason the numbers of whites is so high is because they count Latino, Spanish, native Americans and more in that number. Typically whites are a minority on most yards unless you are on the west coast and even then it’s not even but sum what close.

I've gone to highschools that were more difficult to survive than most state prisons... And yes.... Public schools appear to groom students for this specific future and that's really not a bad thing

If you have an unregistered firearm (gun) you have committed a felony(or a state crime) but if you scratch the serial number of of the unregistered firearm you have committed a federal crime and will be put in a federal prison

@reignz_5082I think prisoners should be given chances to upgrade to better prisons based on time served and good behavior, and giving more inmates an opportunity to work is important man. Like people who work get a sense of accomplishment especially men it's in our DNA allowing them to earn a better existence for themselves is basic human rights otherwise it's a drawn out fate I think violent people should still stay together but ANYONE who has non violent offenses should be immediately rerouted to a safer prison for non violent people and anyone that does act out there gas a chance of being sent to a more dangerous prison. Therefor I would work make money at safer prison and spend my money for better food let the prisoners earn food entertainment video games tv. All these items can be purchased by the prisoners then they still lose their freedom keep them removed from society but the can still have a sense of life and community in a safer prison the chance of making more meaningful connections is there and over time they may realize they can return to society abd again in only positing this for non violent people violent people deserve more supervision, and more humane conditions unfortunately the best way to deal with the violent offenders is to increase funding only through the prison side bc violent offenders can't be trusted in workplaces. And since we aren't gonna get that funding anytime soon it just might be best that we only keep violent people with themselves. It's and unfortunate reality but if you chose to hurt others you probably do deserve to live somewhere where power and control truly rules. You have to own up to your sins and sometimes you pay before meeting the creator it may teach you something

@jonathandiaz4997Good overview of the prison systems in the US. Watching from NZ where the prison system is more centralised. Most prisons are run by the Department of Corrections. There is a private prison in Auckland run by Serco for low to medium security prisoners. The military also has a small prison at Burnham Military Camp near Christchurch.

@ChazzTV86this isnt true by the way. In the first 51 seconds youre wrong. Prison isnt for minor offenses. Murders go to prison. A Federal prison is different then state for a few reasons. (Ex- Criminal here 5x convicted felon) For one, state prison has small portions of inedible foods, where as feds is a buffet of fruits and steaks and seafood every single day. The second difference, is that state time can in most states receive (good time) Fedal prison does like 85 percent I think, I could be wrong. What I do know for a fact, is that they serve almost all their sentence. To go to feds youve got to do something that involves the government directly. For example, anything to do with the mail is federal. Anything with the railroad is federal. A large amount of narcotics and be federal is traveled with. There is a lot of things for a federal crime. It was always more clout in the streets to catch a fed case, and it was also the ideal choice for most, because if you gotta lay down, you might as well lay in the feds with comfy beds, higher education criminals, ect

@akidataylor777In Texas we have federal prison, TDCJ (penitentiary), and state jail only Srate Jail offenders go there for no more than 2 yrs. Everyone knows "feds" is the gold standard if you have a stay at any of these places. Not for everyone. Don't do the crime if your scared to do the time.....
