There is NO faster way to get money, NO stronger starting weapon, and NO better armor at the start. It makes you completely overpowered at the start of the game and enemies will melt. You'll be unstoppable if you follow this guide.

At present you can just buy super guns from the wery begining at The Provisions Store, at New Atlantis. There are actually two of them, blue rare guns. And go for The Mantis quest right away.
I started as industrialist, with security. As soon, as you enter the Moon station and find the Mantis quest note, through the main quest, you will have second commers and adwansed lockpics.

I'm level 19 now played blindly with no guides for a lot of it and decided to watch some vids this has good info even for a player who's been in it for a short while. I will say I totally stumbled on the Mantis mission and already did it very early. I found the space station because I went to Sol assuming it was probably our solar system. It was! I went to explore earth and then saw that and checked it out! Took me a minute to get all the guards with my terrible weapons but I got em. Got the slate and honestly didn't think anything about it. Noticed the Mantis side mission after a few more hours of play and getting to know the game more and I did it and yeah luckily I had some better weapons but I did it completely blew my mind when I realized what I got!! The suit the ship! Btw I found a Grendel with semi auto and white hot and suppressed it's sick! I'm truly an explorer in games and really like to loot everything it really paid off in this game because I've found some cool stuff that I don't think my level is really supposed to be getting until later in the game but I love it! I have a couple outposts going now and really just need to get some serious organization going. I need more storage!!

You'll have max commerce and security at the very start of the game, an endless supply of money, a powerful replacement ship that's free, and the highest DPS weapon and legendary armor the very second you're allowed to free roam. @jackfrost4538UC Surplus in the Well does restock guns on shelves, but I think it takes at least 1 month; maybe 2. I rob him blind every time I finish a run at my XP/credit farm outpost on Bessel 3b. When I sleep there a few times to let my resources build, months pass by in New Atlantis because of the time difference. The gun shelves are always full when I get back.

Also, found a tactic/glitch to do TONS OF MONEY in Neon Core, sharing with you as you maybe want to do a video about it, very simple (same as your videos):
1 - steal something from any store and keep it on you (weapon, armor, whatever)
2 - let the guards catch you
3 - tell them "I'm coming with you, don't want any trouble"
4 - DO NOT pay any money (although they will take anyway very small amount)
5 - you finish in jail, but not in a cell, actually near 3x unlocked boxes:
A - One with your stolen goods - take them in stealth mode (still mark as stolen)
B - One with contraband (not always) - freebies - respawn after a few days.
C - nothing ever here
Now go and sell all to the Trade Authority in town !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Repeat again and again !!!
6 - Bonus - steal the officers weapons from the room - will respawn after a few days.
AMAZING STRATEGY WORKED FOR ME, on the same point that you pointed out that you're free to roam!!!

Hi, just started playing and was trying some of the suggestions but ran into a weird issue: I happily killed off the miners after meeting Barrett in order to get their stuff. I was also trying to get a full set of the the better pirate armor (eventually got both sets) and died a few times on very hard so I reloaded quite a few times. Initially the miners all just died and I could loot their few items. Then after the fight they still lay there unmovign but talked when interacted with. Very strange. But it got weirder: after a while I was unable to kill the miners, they just got on their knees instead, weren't lootable and got back up after a moment. All this whhile the pirates were still alive so combat modde was still on. Any ideas what happened? Tried restarting SF, different earlier saves, all to no avail: I can no longer kill miners! But why?

Used this guide and I have now maxed everything he went over. I also have almost maxed the majority of ship stuff now. After the end of the guide I’ve just gone on a va ruun hunting spree in serpentis. Almost level 20 now.

@salmoprI stupidly did most of these locks without leveling up, so basically wasted most of them. Learn from me! once you have your security, wait to level up to put a point into security lev 2 before picking more! ... what a newb am I...
@jphish8724Get and equip two pieces of Chameleon Spacesuit/Pack/Helmet and you can boldly steal undetected while crouched. I think it helps to also have at least 1 stealth Skill Point. You should still quicksave prior because I have been caught for some odd/rare reason. I totally cleaned out the gun shop at The Well a couple times, he also eventually gets better weapons.
