Balllistics skill early on. Probably the second most important after Boostpack as most early available lootable guns are ballistic. There is also a couple of shotguns for free in the constellation basement.

What did you use for ship combat

The simulator you can do that over and over and over until you beat it and every time when you get out, you can restart it and do it again but every time you get out, you can upgrade your ship pilot and skills and your weapons so it’s kind of like a cheat. The simulator for the vanguard can be used. You can have all the best equipment at a low level.

RE video title "NEED to".
Me thinks this content creator thinks their opinion is so superior, that they go public withit,and, not just offer advice, but tell people they have to follow it.
I never listen to such people regarding how to play a game, as a huge chunk of the enjoyment is in pioneering into the unknown and learning as I travel.

I always star with the Wanted perk; Free lunch deliveries wherever you are (loads of beer included). Also, mission boards are all over the place, you can even make them yourself.

Also, I defy your closing advice, about what to pick up and what to not pick up. I begin picking up every resource I can find, from the very beginning of the game. And as I play through the progression, I upgrade everything related to carrying capacity (Weightlifting and Payloads especially).
I add cargo containers, additional landing gears, and engines as needed.
The result is:
If I need a suppressor for a new gun, I got that.
If I need a storage container for an outpost on a moon, I got that.
Nickel, plutonium, cobalt, adhesive, sealant, alien genetic material, drilling rig, whatever...
You name it, I got it.
Tell me what to pick up... Lol

Actually, you're wrong here, sort of; I used the simulator to farm the "destroy enemy ships" objective for the Piloting upgrade. Even just doing the first 3 levels of the simulator, you can rack up several kills towards the objective. I know because I just farmed it for that Piloting upgrade yesterday.
The absolute first thing to do on starfield? Uninstall and play something else
@swgohhillsy928Simulator: You do get xp for each kill - just not much 10-ish.
Got Security? In Neon, on the roof of Frankie's is a locked vent shaft. Go down and you are in the syndicate. As long as you stay below the third floor and out of bedrooms/apartment areas, you can go all the way to the back without getting harassed and collect the chest on the second floor's back room. Hot sword on the bench below, and if you hide until they are not looking, you can get a killer melee weapon. Sell and immediately rebuy at trade authority to remove the stolen tag.
build outpost fast no better way to make easy exp points do it with a AMP farm you will also have more cash than you can spend and not need a ship that's all cargo shace to move it around
@rollerat22I will never play this rubbish! ~Former BGS Fanboy
@FobbitOperatorFirst thing, NOT BUYING IT!
@TheHorrorkindGo down to the bar in “The Well” at New Atlantis. Behind the bar is Jake’s Hangover Cure. Steal it. Drop it and then go back to where you dropped it. Most powerful weapon you can find that early in the game.
@Triumph2727This was awful...might as well titled the video "Just play the game".
@Eremon1Nice and concise, well done!
@TimberWolfCLTAs soon as you have 3 skill points go and spend the time getting your C class pilots license. Many times have I boarded a great ship only to find out I can't pilot it. Usually after you're in space. That's a huge bummer because you have to reload your last save. Save before entering any ship you plan to takeover.
@bobstupaksvegasworld4098I will always want to go in guns blazing. Regardless.
@JohnyQPublicYeaaah. I'll still be walking around a dungeon with 900 weight in my pack :D
@NotThatGoodGamerLimitless? funny...
@unnamedchannel8915Step 1: uninstall starfield.
Step 2: install no man's sky.
Step 3: have actual fun.
Creamy!!!!!!
@BGaming-g6gAlways pick up weapons then drop them if you don't need them. Every weapon comes with ammo and you keep that when you drop the weapon.
@jimblackford6680Definitely gather ammo it has made me the most money and also steal ships whenever possible.
@skylerhall10He said dosh, this man plays Killing Floor. SUBSCRIBED
@EonAzureWhat do I do if Vasco Somehow is not on my ship anymore and probably on a random planet..
@DanielxKaizen7If you pick up the guns and drop them you keep the ammo that was in them
@christianftb9895I'm trying to keep track this is so helpful thank you! I started playing HOURS ago and I've gotten NOTHING accomplished!
I feel much better keeping it going now. ❤
Tip #1 or rather RULE #1 assuming u play on PC (Sorry Xbox) thats to install an Inventory UI mod before u even think of starting the game i recommend StarUI. The base games inventory screen is so bad that in any other game it never would have made it past the early stage of Beta testing. U have several 100´s of different items in this game and the base inventory ui dosent even have preset categorys to sort by.
@Shiftry87#1 uninstall and buy Cyberpunk
@duznygeyafockPick up all guns even if you are going to drop them, you get the ammunition that was in them when you pick it up
@sdranch2800Uninstalled at HE/HIM. Disgrace
@WillyShakespeare.-1872-He’s literally listed all the most boring tasks in the game 😂
@Cartman_KennedyThe ship simulator is a great way to max your pilot level early in the game.
@guest0333Dude you telling most basic things about the game like DO SIDEQUESTS or ASSIGN COMPANIONS TO SHIP TO OBTAIN UNDISCOVERED PERKS
Dude, this is obvious after 2h of game 😂
I love how the wine is the same as my name! Unique name so i was pleasantly surprised to see it in Starfield.
@chandracox6814Half the people complaining haven’t even unlocked there powers in the game which is when things start to get interesting it’s a big universe there are moments where it all slows down but there’s ton of lore and great stories in action to keep u coming back not meant to be rushed through at all
@LadiesLoveChapoGet the cargo ship and pick up all loot you can find. Load in ship all of it. Get the ship cargo skill to max asap. Then all your ships will have decent cargo.
@zeljkoklepac3180Kid stuff is buns
@emperorpalpatine6500TY!
@Answer42-0The GalBank bounty missions, I only got to do the first one. The second one bugged: it sent me to a completely different system from what the mission said, and the ship was already destroyed. There was no way to complete it and I can't even drop the quest to pick it up again, so I'm just locked out of that questline entirely.
It Just Works™
You really think I want to drive people around for ingame money ? Bro this game is pretty boring for now
@slavplaysgamesYou can blow up meteors for resources
