Literally plagiarised video almost word to word from another creator, if you're looking at this video, most likely it's on your recommended tab, go watch that, instead of this copy paste video

Spotify keeps hiking their prices, and at some point enough is enough. In this video I try to replace Spotify by self-hosting my own music server, with a mobile app and recommendations, for free.

Wait. People actually like the social nonsense they keep pushing in Spotify?

I use a 20+ year old iPod for my music. I changed battery a couple of years ago, Now it works like a charm.
I could rip ther bigger part of myc music library to it, so there is always something i haven't listen to in a while.

OTHER PLATFORMS
I have all my music on my pc and stream them on all my devices through Plex (in this case, with the Plexamp app)

why not just use brave and youtube music or Spotify

I recommend using Amperfy for your music if you have an Iphone. I personally think Amperfy is one of the best open source apps for navidrome.

What I'd do instead of paying for Spotify I use. A fake app of joyify

@raic_ecasaos + navidrome + yt-dlp + psysonic (linux)/substreamer(android and i dont know alternative for mac or ios) + tailscale is BEST
@Bozayi-zk5nuhey, give Arpeggi a try. its really satisfying. give it a try and update the video
@The_Darkest8_KnightI have used music streaming services for more than 10 years now. So I spent about 1500€ for them, and when I cancel the subscription, I lose access to all my music. Imagine how much music you could buy and keep forever for 1500.
@felsenbirne9800Just download your fev songs
Or use yt 😂
i use foobar2000 for my music
@rishabh_7kI was already using Jellyfin/Finamp but ai will try navidrome now because of this video
@heapsprayI download all my favourite songs on phone ,
@samitbajpayee8953Spotify premium platinum plan costs only 15 dollars a year in india
@genzrant1Tidal...50M songs
in CD quality $10.99/month.
great ideas but probably regular people stay at spotify XD XD XD
@Anonymous-jh4nrThe thing with accessing your server on the go is that your internet needs to be good... When I try, it doesn't give me a bad gateway or a 404, but it doesn't ever load the page.
@Augtopus🤣"No way jose "
@CloudNativeJanitorI did it too😅😅😅
@overclocked_helmetjust use metrolist why bother doing all these
@YourMotivesbdI pay Spotify because I need it on playstation :(
@dvmbrenaGreat video, just enough detail for someone that wants to replicate, but not too much to lose those who don't. Perfect!
@bluekeyboI use music brains and a used Sony Walkman. Same experience and I can leave my phone at home. It’s better for me if the phone is at home and I can carry my songs which I ripped from my cds so I can use it when I can and where I can. A friend of mine now has no access to the internet so he can’t listen to music on Spotify and can’t watch movies. So I said having also a physical media collection is also not so bad
@racecallxr6519In india 1 year for Spotify standard is less than 13 usd
@haha.atharvBro just download mp3 files on your phone or buy a mp3 player. 🤌😋
@YashSharma-wk4rq3:00 or use own vpn server
@TheThanatorosHey great video! I'm taking my music library to my homelab as my next project, as a little advice to anyone exposing their services to the internet, exposing a port may not be the best idea security-wise. You could use cloudflare tunnels, which give you https out of the box and never exposes your own network to the internet
@NanoLogic555I recommend Symfonium for the Android client it's so customizable, and is actually comparable in features to Power Amp which is what I use to use for my Local Library
Sure both are paid, but both offer far more then the asking price to warrant that one time purchase.
You're not self-hosting, you're pirating.
@jonjohnson2844Personally I use tailscale
@TheBlueOrb-w1lI like your videos...but for some reason you sound like a Minecraft youtuber to me😅
@slothbaby07I'm paying 1.36 bucks for Spotify 😅 I don't think I gotta switch my account anytime soon (legacy plan)
@CostycansnipeThe Dev of Navidrome openely says, that its unsafe to use Navidrome without any Authentication on the web. You should atleast use something like Cloudflared and Cloudflare Access with SSO.
Also keep in mind, if you upload FLAC files, theyre atleast 20-30mb per file for a normal length track. If your Upload speed doesnt keep up with these files, you may have a bad time, i would recommend to use a simple and cheap VPS
Vanced Spotify
@bdShroudIm dying with the no way hozay reference XDD
@karsit0owo892JAMIE PAIGE!!!
@BarrelcvtSo where are you now going to be getting any new music from? And where are we supposed to get the full amount of music we used to have on Spotify? If you had all theusic you wanted in the first place why did you go to Spotify in the first place?
@robertgray703Well I've had a great experience using YouTube Music with Brave Browser
@WsuxYTgood video dont get me wrong, but i need to point out that shoddy editing in the thumbnail
@Rudy_TYoutube music is still better than Spotify both are 320 kb
@PREMKUMAR77367@3:33 You had me stop at Static IP. In my place, the cost of static IP is $70/mo, while my Netflix+Spotify+YT Premium+DynamicIP Internet cost me merely $40/mo 😅
@HarpaxALove your videos, thanks for sharing!
@SpieleabendCheckThere are a lot of youtube video to mp3 converter. Download your favorite songs to mobile and use.
@colour3340As a person that likes to hear music I never understand why people like to use Spotify or and listening streaming services. I always buy my music or download my music or rip . I have never use Spotify or pandora
