Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) - Saving MJ Scene | Movieclips

Video Overview & Insights

Spider-Man: No Way Home - Saving MJ: MJ (Zendaya) falls.

Could have had a more dramatic landing though. All that build up and just plop.

I still think it would have been better if Goblin was the only villain. The other villains were like background noise in the movie Ride Along.

FILM DESCRIPTION:

Ugh breaks my heart every time 😔 but knowing he saved a life I hope helps ease the pain a little

— @kudasinezuko2881

For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero's identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange's help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who've ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.

Andrew saved MJ, because he knew exactly what the death of MJ would do to Tom Holland’s Peter.

— @ihyrule4736

Cast: Alfred Molina, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon, Tom Holland, Willem Dafoe, Zendaya

Screenwriter: Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers

Still my 3rd favorite scene in the entire MCU. The other two were Captain America's two big moments in End Game. The hammer and his ending. Just my personal list. Everybody's list will differ.

Director: Jon Watts

Producer: Kevin Feige

The way he pushed the steel beam away whilst going down to save her too

I love seeing Andrew’s Peter redeem himself, but can we appreciate how Tobey’s Peter looks when Green Goblin calls out to them? That’s not just panic; that’s honest to God fear. He knows whatever is about to happen will suck - a lot.

It hurts to see that he can only remember that he failed to catch Gwen when he did it right this time.

i like to believe he didn’t save MJ because she was innocent, but rather because he didn’t want Tom to go through the torture he had to deal with.
it’s a lot like time traveling to a younger version of yourself to save them from the heartbreak that ruined your life.

Zendaya’s recent report that her first date was to one of Andrew’s Spidey movies sent me here. This climax is one reason why No Way Home was worth the price of admission.

Andrew imparts so much emotion on his face here that you can tell there's a deep pain he's holding. He's able to say so much without even saying a word. Even someone that hadn't seen his movies could probably get a sense that he'd failed someone in a similar situation and was overwhelmed by doing it right this time.

Instant tears every-time. Waited so long for him to have that moment.

Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man saved MJ this time, but he remembered his failure to save Gwen Stacey.

Dafoe was an amazing Green Goblin. But I don't think there will ever be a true Norman Osborne

0:44 The fact that he Pitch this scene to the director and the writers show how much dedication Andrew Garfield has to spider man and I belive that this movie he shows why he is the best spider man mind you he had little screen time but with all the little screen time he played the part so good in every scene it felt like he was so passionate about it and that why I belive he is the best Spider man

I watched this and loved it. As I watch it now I’m thinking “I just watched the MCU version of the Marvel Team - Up issues from the 70s and 80s!!!

@Onegoodman68

The way he mustve replayed what happened to Gwen a million times over just to save someone in a similar situation.

@auringtail

...wait...wait wait wait, did Peter 3 just interrupt a canon event?

2099 theme starts playing...

Incredible movie especially for 90s babies, but I got to give it to them this scene was top notch, didn't even like The amazing Spider-Man movies but Andrew Garfield is incredible, this scene wanted me to look forward to an amazing Spider-Man 3.

He couldn’t accept it happening again

I like how Andrew pushes himself to go faster
How Maguire saved Gwen in Spider man 3

@Jer3myLMFAO
@

You can tell, in that moment, he used literally every once of his strength to shoot him down to her. All of his might, poured into not letting MJ die like Gwen did.

@Gojira_Wins
@

I'm very sure he saw Gwen's face as he was carrying MJ

@MurderousPrime2007
@

I just realized he caught her the exact same way Tobey's Spider-Man caught his Mary Jane after the first Goblin encounter 😭

@dkg2894
@

Vachement émouvante cette scène, n'empêche...

@CarlaDacosta-mo3ed
@

What makes this even sadder is that he probably replayed Gwen's death 100 times and thought of ways to save her, and that's why he did everything clearly and quickly to save MJ

@bulka3373
@

having andrew save her means so much to me 😭😭😭

@delicateswift
@

Not having a show/movie/just a scene where another universes' Emma Stone-Gwen Stacy pops in as Spider-Gwen with Andy's Spidey is up there as one of the biggest Marvel storytelling misses, along with following Cap as he returns the Infinity Stones

@jeffbrown2034
@

This is one of the best scenes in all of Marvel

@twincredibleacezia778

The fact that he didn't meet his MJ yet in his universe so he'll probably end up with her soon just like any peter parker in their own universe.

@carlomag-abo5241
@

Reliving the worst moment of his life, except that he got it right this time.
It doesn't actually change it. It doesn't solve it. Might even make it worse.

But he did it. This time, at least, he did it.

@MordenkainenTheMad
@

The tragedy of a hero is that most only see his successes. Conversely, a hero only remembers the times he failed.

@countergravity6371

The redemption was lit but the way he pushed that steel aside before the catch was 👌

@RunsWithKnives6

I like that my is just that good of a person in every universe that her first thought is always to help people
