Jin Laoshi, I have a question for you - could you tell us if you have had any student in grades 3 to 4 who can read pinyin words that they may not have read or understand from words in HSK 5 and upward. Or, do you know of any adult foreign student who can read Pinyin above HSK 5 and 6?
I am at HSK 4 and off and on listen to HSK 5 podcasts. I can read anything in Pinyin though I may not understand its meanings.

Lovely podcast episode! Xie xie. It is nice to see the variety between vlog, asmr/whispers, and a podcast of inviting good friends for a retrospective on 2025. I agree when you mentioned the importance of self-belief. It is true... self-belief is the good friend of success. One can obtain success and prosperity without self-belief, but it is a much harder road that is not necessary to take. Also yes! Dawn lao shi's app has been wonderful. I am taking my time in practicing the Hanzi of new characters. It is truly a great way to learn new characters, and practice your reading and speaking skills. the grading system is more honest than duo lingo, and it offers an ai mode for more content in each lesson! Hopefully it gets more recognition with time. I've been a monthly subscriber and hope that my support helps Dawn lao shi and the app team! I recommend everyone try it for your Chinese skills.
Your friend's advice is also wonderful - treat youtube like your playground! Many of the best videos are about encapsulating magical moments at the right time. And you may miss them in the pursuit of perfection every time. A balance is always good!
Thanks for inviting Jin lao shi to the show. It was also great getting to hear her answers. I enjoyed Dawn lao shi's topics and the way she approached lao shi Jin with deep questions. I will need to re-watch the episode because I would like to know what my own answers would have been. Your friendship with Jin lao shi can be felt through the screen, and helped the podcast feel more like an entertaining, introspective and philosophical conversation.
