Simple BBQ Rub Recipe - Dry Rub Recipe - Backyard Texas Barbecue

Video Overview & Insights

BBQ rubs are designed to flavor meats while creating a crusty surface as the meat cooks. The amount to apply is the amount that sticks. Pat dry meat before applying a meat rub, sprinkle over the entire surface and gently pat in place. If you do it right, it will become the bbq rub recipe!

New sub. Your communication style is spot on.

Ingredients for the BBQ Rub:

In the video you say to use 2 tbsp garlic powder, written recipe above calls for 4 Tbsp, presume 2 tbsp correct?

1/2 cup sea salt

3/4 cup brown sugar

In the video, you say to add 2 tablespoons of onion powder however the recipe calls 4 tablespoons???

One minute in and still zero information on how to make it. SPIT IT OUT.

Welcome to Backyard Texas Barbecue where you don't need to be an BBQ expert (or Texan) to make and enjoy the best Texas BBQ recipes.

It’s quite salty. Hopefully the ribs went be salty

— @irenereveles9489

We'll show you how to BBQ a full range of Texan delicacies including ribs, bbq brisket and how to make barbecue chicken that a native Texan would be proud of.

Sharing a rub recipe that can go on just about any kind of meat. Hmmm . . . Not sure I agree. Wouldn't that make every one of them taste the same? I use different rubs to bring out the different flavor profiles of the individual meats.

Was ok but the skin on my smoked chicken was way too salty. We had to remove the skin. The meat was still salty but not as much . I'll try it with a couple of table spoons of salt instead. Hope that works
