This is not just a simple amnesia plot. I am surprised you do not see what’s right in front of us with this trailer? Remember what Sheriff Holston said from the very beginning. "We do not know why we are here. We do not know who built the Silo. We do not know why everything outside the Silo is as it is. We do not know when it will be safe to go outside. We only know that day... is not this day." The irony is that Holston is speaking for a society built on uncertainty, while the people running the silos actually know much more than they’re admitting. The trilogy is essentially the process of uncovering the answers to each sentence in that speech.
Season three of “Silo” continues the saga of a dystopian society of 10,000 people living underground under mysterious circumstances, while revealing an origin story set centuries earlier. In the present, Juliette Nichols (Ferguson) survives her forced “cleaning” but returns with memory loss as the silo recovers from rebellion and faces a dangerous new threat. Meanwhile, in the “Before Times,” journalist Helen Drew (Jessica Henwick) and Congressman Daniel Keene (Ashley Zukerman) uncover a conspiracy that pulls them into a chain of events with catastrophic, irreversible consequences. The series is based on Hugh Howey’s New York Times bestselling trilogy, “Silo.”
The ensemble cast returning alongside Ferguson includes Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Remmie Milner, Rick Gomez, Billy Postlethwaite and Clare Perkins. Joining the cast for season three are Zukerman and Henwick, who appeared in the season two finale, along with Laura Innes, Jessica Brown Findlay, Morven Christie, Reed Birney and Matt Craven, with Colin Hanks set to recur. Steve Zahn will also return.

I am not even quarter-way reading the second book (Shift) and I get why she lost her memories. It’s the only reason I’m not annoyed, but had I not been reading I’d be mad af.

@Ali-ib9yeThe books have a major memory loss theme/arc. Though Juliette herself never experiences it, I don't think they're being arbitrary here. It feels like they're weaving Shift and Dust. I wonder if they'll do that weaving plot thing where the characters who actually experience it in the silos' origin story are mirrored in her until their plots line up. I think it could be done well if so. I have faith since the first two seasons were honestly better than the books. They created way more atmosphere, character development, world building, and suspense. I have hope that they'll pull this off.
A lot of the silo's unrest/rebellion in the books when Juliette came back was out of her hands to begin with. Also Juliette didn't know about the gas in the books until it was near the end of the final book, so her not remembering that key info might just line the plot up with the OG plot.

@AngrykittennAt this point the only way people can reconcile with amnesia if you just release all episodes at once. There is no way I am sitting through episodes while it drags on just to slow down the plot. RELEASE IT ALL. Upvote if you agree.

@thandehenrycan't believe they went with the stalling arc and poofed her memories from entire SE2. Amnesia only works on movies to explain the past, it doesn't make sense in a series when the viewers have already seen the entire past. That just gaslighting.

@PrayToSapphoFor anyone complaining about the whole memory loss aspect, read the books, and in fact, season 2 mentions memory loss as well. Interestingly enough though, I love how this show is it’s actually pretty different from the books, but in a very fantastic way. I felt like in the books there were a fair amount of plot holes and I had a lot of unanswered questions when I finished the last book. I think this is due to the author self publishing all 3 books, so there was no ‘advisory team’ to help guide him.

@sarthakzurale9665Guess a lot of people who are complaining about the "memory loss trope" didn't read the Silo series. While the Apple series is diverging quite a bit, it's still keeping true to the source material when it comes to memory loss.
