The initial idea for this was fairly simple..

“It’s 2020 and the country has us shut down from touring, so let’s go film a live concert, by ourselves, in the middle of the desert and let people stream it..”

Before too long, a film/audio production crew was assembled and we were arriving to our shooting location around 4pm, near Big Bend National Park.

At around 1am, while beginning to tune our instruments and attempt to sound check for the upcoming production, everyone started to hear a low-pitch droning sound, off in the far distance. Nobody could tell what it was initially, but soon enough realized there was a massive problem ahead; with the first and very dim flashes of lighting, still too far off for any of us to hear.

What you will hear within this album are two separate recordings. The first is full band, outside on the plateau, at the initial location recorded off of two small generators.

The second was our last ditch effort to record a few more songs after the rain .. performed acoustic, with 2 condenser mics total, at the old church in the Terlingua ghost town.

Both are continuous, live takes that we attempted to play without speakers or any real working means to hear ourselves in the moment, but both of them are kind of incredible in their own ways, because of that.

We hope that you enjoy the sounds of grit and spirit that were harvested from the night we’d all just had. We hope it takes you directly onto that set and makes you feel even remotely similar to how it does us when we listen back to it.
