Seven Worlds, One Prehistoric Planet: Mashup V. II (ft Sia and Hans Zimmer)

Video Overview & Insights

Mashup of Prehistoric Planet and Seven Worlds, One Planet. This time featuring the trailer score with Sia. And new paleo geography shots from space!

I thought it was wonderful! In South America, even the Botucatu paleodesert appeared, which covered the center and southeast of the continent during the Jurassic period. Sia and Zimmer wonderful.

— @wagnercosta8386

Synopsis:

Millions of years ago huge forces ripped apart the Earth's crust creating seven spectacular continents. Over time, each continent developed its own remarkable wildlife, full of dinosaurs.

This genuinely makes me tear up. For me, dinosaurs represent life on Earth at its peak, which in turn made me invested in conservation in the hopes that one day, nature can achieve that level of majesty again. This is a beautiful reminder of that.

— @JurassicDaikaiju

66 million years ago, these continents included Austral-Antarctica, the last fragment of the former super-continent Gondwana. India was also once a part of Gondwana but was now fully isolated and heading north. Just as today Asia, Europe, North America and South America were fully established continents, but they had yet to aquire their modern conturs. Large parts of the lower continental shelfs were flooded by the high sea levels that followed the warm temperatures of the latest cretaceous period. From time to time certain continents like North America and Asia would also connect through temporary land bridges, which in turn allowed animals to migrate and expand into new habitats. But once these geological connections closed, populations became seperated and evolved in their own unique evolutionary paths, creating an almost endless diversity of Dinosaurs; many of which we will never uncover or understand. The deep past is shrouded in mystery.

Footage in this edit was recorded from the Apple TV plus series Prehistoric Planet, which you can watch here: https://tv.apple.com/se/show/prehistoric-planet/umc.cmc.4lh4bmztauvkooqz400akxav

This is so truly astonishing and absolutely beautiful to see in the world of the dinosaurs!

All the Earth/space shots of the different continents were created by me, Paleo Edits, the editor of this mashup video.

Music composed by Jacob Shea and Hans Zimmer. Feat. Sia.

Finally find this 😅😅😅😅

Why is Europe, an island chain a continent? North America: all Laramidia. Appalachia does not get enough love! And everyone acts like Zealandia does not exist!

Magnificent tribute, and those ancient continents look so cool. Honestly each of your edits would make a fine actual documentary concept on their own. Keep up the outstanding work 🤘🤘

Although not exactly same format, I have thought about geographic-themed Prehistoric Planet episodes.
South America, Asia, Tethys Ocean (Including North Africa & European islands), Polar Region (Including Alaska, Antarctica, and Zealandia), and Laramidia.
