Honestly, really hard to take advice from folks that have the means to make what THEY write. I've read scripts from Get Out...nothing to "write home" about. If you are backing your own film (which I've done), you don't have to inspire the reader emotionally to want it enough to put a few million behind it. IMO, a great script is a GREAT HOOK executed cleanly with intriguing characters in conflict with massive stakes and rewarding payoff. A great script <> made or not made.

I think humanity needs to pass a law to have Seth never shave again. The beard is pure uncut film wisdom.

This is the first screenplay interview I have seen where the writer basically suggest YOU ARE FUCKED.

Damn maybe I just need to smoke a bunch in order to free up my mind enough to not care about getting my ideas down on paper. That’s always been a hindrance to my writing. Overthinking the ideas in my head to the point of not only not knowing where to begin with writing a story but also to the point of believing the ideas aren’t worthy of being written.

I’ve never seen this but omg Seth ur my fav always have been let’s make a movie the family lore is ridiculous over here (true stories are the best ones) & My life SPIRALED 4 years ago. I survived & am finally myself again. Smile 2 the fucking deliverance (I was typing this AS he started talking about the horror genre, had to pause it) & even countdown (watched that one in rehab it was cute) but I’ve found my passion again for life & in that art & movies. Been thinking about a podcast or TikTok or something but I’m not that cool just have a cool story but am still trying to nail the ending. Life is a movie & im inspired. Thank you ❤️
