Did anyone notice the camera 48:20 his side, as he started the car. Its really hard to understand this story but its based on her due to her involvement and her sister, I certainly cant get my head round it?
It warps you trust in humanity even though at times we may say it but don't do it through temper. I suppose she was controlled because she did not like the way he wanted her sister. So I think the outcome was right. The only difference being he was violent, she was submissive. Her sisters passing was an accident, all the rest were controlled. Horrible waste of life.

When I was in college, I chose this case for one of my assignments. It was hard to process and even harder to finish. If evil had an identity, it would be them.

What is wrong with Americans, men like that & women like that don't exist anywhere else in the world. Two killers on the loose & no one realises what they are doing? How did this man grow up? What monstrous upbringing & childhood he must have had? I wonder if we're going to be told how he became such a monster. In a civilised country like Iran where the rulers care about their charges these two would've been found it & hanged long before they could cause so much misery & mayhem. But USA is anything BUT a civilised country.

A desperately sick woman, a crazy woman, a narcissist, or what? What is this woman about? Is this story really true? A woman being madly in love with a man who killed her sister & is a serial rapist? I once asked MY girlfriend to stop reading a silly book, girly romance, and join me to watch a serious political documentary on TV with me, she got up, packed her backpack & walked out of my life forever, this woman in the film is being physically & mentally abused by her boyfriend & she madly loves him, what the hell is wrong with both these women, my ex girlfriend & the woman in this film?

When i was punk-ish teen, i thought i was in love. My mother (who anyone might describe as a "bruja" - in a Latin American indigenous tradition, and thus very intelligent) took me aside and scolded me. She told me there's a big difference in Spanish between "amor" and "amorado" (or "enamorado"). In English both words seem to mean "love" which has one general meaning - as far as i can see. But, in Spanish "amor" is love but like affection, devotion, attachment, unconditional care. And "enamorado" is also love but like infatuation, smitten, besotted, enraptured. Rape and death of Tammy Homolka

By 1990, Bernardo (Paul) had lost his job as an accountant and was smuggling cigarettes across the nearby Canada–United States border. He spent long periods of time with Karla's family, who enjoyed his company and were unaware of his criminal activities. Although he was engaged to Karla, Bernardo soon became obsessed with her 14-year-old younger sister Tammy, peering into her window and entering her room to masturbate while she slept. Karla aided Bernardo in these acts by breaking the windows in her sister's room, allowing him access. According to Bernardo's later testimony, Karla laced spaghetti sauce with crushed valium she had stolen from her employer at an animal clinic. She served it to her sister, who soon lost consciousness. Bernardo then raped Tammy while Karla watched. After one minute, Tammy regained consciousness.[15][16]



Six months before their 1991 wedding, Karla stole the anesthetic agent halothane from the animal clinic. On December 23, 1990, Bernardo and Karla administered sleeping pills to 15-year-old Tammy in a rum-and-eggnog cocktail. When Tammy lost consciousness, the couple undressed her and Karla applied a halothane-soaked cloth to her sister's nose and mouth. Karla wanted to "give Tammy's virginity to Bernardo for Christmas"; according to her, Bernardo was disappointed that he was not Karla's first sex partner. With Tammy's parents sleeping upstairs, the couple videotaped themselves raping Tammy in the basement. Tammy began to choke on vomit; they tried to revive her and called 9-1-1 after hiding evidence, dressing Tammy and moving her into her bedroom. A few hours later, Tammy was pronounced dead at St. Catharines General Hospital without regaining consciousness.[17]



Despite being observed vacuuming and washing laundry in the middle of the night,[15] and despite a chemical burn on Tammy's face, the municipal coroner and Karla's family accepted Bernardo and Karla's version of events.[15] The official cause of Tammy's death was ruled accidental, the result of choking on vomit after consumption of alcohol. After Tammy's death, Bernardo and Karla videotaped themselves engaging in sexual intercourse, with Karla wearing Tammy's clothing and pretending to be her. The couple moved out of the Homolka household to a rented bungalow in Port Dalhousie soon afterward.[18] During Tammy's funeral, witnesses saw Bernardo caressing her body in its open casket. Inside the casket, Bernardo and Karla surreptitiously placed a copy of their wedding invitation, which showed a photo of the couple grinning, along with a note. These items were discovered when Tammy's body was exhumed three years later, and were then removed at the request of Karla's family.[19]



In 2001, the magazine Elm Street published an article which implied that forensic evidence proved that Tammy's death was not an accident and that her sister had deliberately administered an overdose of halothane. The publication described Karla as a "malignant narcissist" who was so incensed by her fiancé's attraction to her sister that she removed Tammy from his affections permanently.

That was actually quite a good movie. In many ways it portrayed how I mentally envisaged the tangled relationship and tense, torrid, angst filled, horror show, that must have been the 'Bernardo/Homolka relationship' at its core.
I genuinely, truly and honestly do think that she wormed her way out of what her 'just/legal penalty' would/should have been. Hoodwinking authorities into believing her involvement to be far less than it actually was when they effected that guarantee to her of twelve years for her handing over to the authorities the tapes and other evidence that cemented Bernardo's guilty verdict. It really is at odds with true justice for though Bernardo certainly well deserves his 'whole life tariff', Homolka deserves far more than the paltry twelve years she was given and served.
She really got a far better deal than she was/is entitled to; to my mind anyway...

After she served just 12 years, she gets out, gets married and has 3 kids. They find her volunteering with kids at a school and put a stop to it. She plea bargained before they saw the tapes where she was in it, torturing and abusing victims! This video should have covered that!! She changed her name and this film barely touched the surface of both their evil offenses! She was so far from innocent it makes me sick.

Laura Prepon is such a good actress but I like her better with dark hair. Not that it matters since the real life psycho killer was blonde.
