SCP-7179 | E is for Eternity | Afterlife SCP

Googolplex factorial is every number to Googleplex multipled. So like 1x2x3x4... 100x101x102...100000000x100000001... 10^10¹⁰⁰

A googolplex is followed by a googol zeros, making it unimaginably large. When it says all atoms should have rearranged every possible structure it's talking about Poincaré recurrence theorem. Which googolplex factorial is vastly smaller than the number in the theorem.

Perhaps only once the world within this island returns to the exact state that it started but maybe with like a magic door could it be a way out but but he probably stopped thinking a long long time ago. Jojo

I've seen so many stories discussing the horror of eternal life and they never really did anything for me but this SCP genuinely terrifies me

SCP-7171 (E is for Eternity) was written by Calibold - see their author page here: https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/calibri-bold-s-mega-cool-author-page

Background music by CO.AG: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIdNZlBKrTA

This is one of my favorite readings of one of my favorite SCPs. The music change towards the end has stayed with me ever since I first heard it. A chilling track for a chilling finale.

This would make a great horror movie, especially the body experiments part. Just the thought of looking at eternity in this manner is horrifying in itself.

Every human?

So I've listened to this story several times, and one thing that confuses me is the timescale that it's operating on. By which I mean, are events within 7179 happening in lockstep with our own reality (ie, 1 year inside is 1 year outside) or is time accelerated inside of 7179 from the perspective of anyone who has the means to look into it? (a la the Room of -Infinite Bullshit- Spirit and Time; 1 year inside is 1 day outside)

@Shadethewolfy
@

And this is why it's important for the afterlife to have one final door that allows you to leave, returning your energy to the universe to be repurposed.

@Shadethewolfy
@

I don't understand what people see in this SCP. The concept is unoriginal, and the execusion doesn't really go anywhere interesting

@Klick404
@

Bruh this like my dream fantasy! I know I would regret it but this is something I would definitely wish for.

@-Nue-
@

Between the drugs, alcohol, and 3 girls, i'd be fine there

@justsumguy8193
@

one second of eternity has passed makes no sense whatsoever.

@justsumguy8193
@

a Googol is 10 Multiplied by itself 100 times:
10x10=100
100x10=1,000
1,000x10=10,000
and so on

@r3w1nd21
@

Who else Googled factorial when he said Googol Factorial years?

🤚I’m such an idiot! 😂

@NortheastGun
@

What I would do is dig a hole all the way down until I came to the sky of the next island and sky dive for eternity. If you hit the ground make the hole wider until you just keep falling through.

@NortheastGun
@

This video did the best at conveying the horror of E is for Eternity. The music and the shifting pictures definitely helped with that.

@CheatsythePimp2
@

Damn

@liamwilson12345
@

All that in one second

@catus-cactus
@

i would simply keep myself occupied

@twoduece
@

"One second of eternity has passed" is such a horrifying line

@kiddingjust6946
@

This and SCP 122 are your very best so far IMO. Two brutal SCPs

@bigstupidgrin
@

If I were him, I would explore neurology and use my infinite time to try to perform surgery on myself to make myself not feel boredom. Either that, or build a cryosleep chamber that would put me to sleep for eternity (totally didn’t take that from In Space With Markiplier)

@newmanhiding2314
@

has he tried digging a big hole and seeing how deep it can go? I always enjoyed doing that at the beach, it may help with his boredom!

@andrewdobrin2928
@

Turns out, this was the bad place all along

@redjirachi1
@

HOLY SHIT this was bleak my dude…..yikes 😳😰

@sandrakiefler4649
@

Scp 7178 is not defined by scp foundation even scp reader says access denied

@pradyumnbhau4108
@

Heh.... so... basically hell is eternity.

I think... I think I just stumbled upon the MAXIMUM of existential dread of the human mind... I was looking for it.
Thanks.

@Kalorag
@

This is terrifying

@kylehughes1619
@

here is a dark thought what if your a child or baby when you die? what happens to the three subjectively attractive entities?

@cbtenthusiast7133
@

There is always finite number of things you can experience on small island
and infinite time to spend in eternity.
People do crazy things out of boredom. Imagine someone after 1000 years of boredom..

@asz-themoonwalker2771
@

That is such a d*** move at the end and only one second has passed

@autobotCRSHR
@

This feels like a variation of the Doctor who episode where he talks about the bird sharpening its beak on the diamond mountain.

@damiendean90
@

but my sexual preferences aren't humans :(

@entitledindustries9135
@

The fact that any human death is guaranteed to get transported to 7179 makes this much much worse imo

@neku-fn8dq
@

There's this mountain of pure diamond. It takes an hour to climb it, and an hour to go around it! Every hundred years, a little bird comes and sharpens its beak on the diamond mountain. And when the entire mountain is chiselled away, the first second of eternity will have passed!
You must think that's a hell of a long time. Personally, I think that's a hell of a bird.

@zebedie2
@

Shit went south quite rapidly

@bigtonk9633
@

i'm shallow enough to enjoy that island for billions of years i want it sooo hard

@ChrisD4335
@

...I've found myself on a similar island, wouldn't really recommend it. At least not in any way besides as a repetition...,.
Interesting to hear about the different things the island has to offer.

@roeberdt-bT.1021
@

Those noises at the end, when the time gets into the millions, were seriously effective and really freaked me out.

@EdMcStinko
@

Jesus, that was horrifying. I didn't think they could write an afterlife SCP scarier than SCP-2718, but this does it, I think.

@kevlonk
@

Good god i hope not

@bl1754
@

This is why I look forward to the void.

@annikat6793
@

What am I?

@ElBumbElBee
@

That is a long as time to keep an observation going.
Also nice with an afterlife but couldnt the entity who created it just remove the cognitive ability to feel bored. Feels like asking for trouble

@harmlessgaming0451
@

Eternal life really is the ultimate booby prize, isn't it? If the universe is going to stick me with that, it could at least give me an endless task to keep me busy. Like cataloging the Library of Babel or at least rolling the same rock up the same hill over and over again. If I were stuck on a tropical island with nothing to do but eat, drink, and play pattycake with some creepy meat robots my sanity might not last a week.
