The culture is not great. Keep all politics, even the liberal ones out of public education. The best education is our public montessori school.
Traditional school vs homeschool. Which one is better?
What to do? You don’t have the cash to send your child to private school, where most kids seem to do very well in terms of academic performance, and benefit from the sometimes-lucrative relationships made there. Then again, the local public school in your neighborhood doesn't feel up to snuff; the class sizes are too big, and it doesn’t have a great reputation. So, who’s to say your child won’t benefit from your own knowledge, that you secretly consider to be superior to the average teacher’s. But you worry: not giving your child the opportunity to socialize with other kids might take away an important part of growing up? Is homeschool worth it? That’s what we’ll find out, in this episode of the Infographics Show, Traditional School vs Homeschool.
How do children make friends if they are home schooled?

The problem is that only half to two-thirds of people take public tests and score better than public schools, which roughly corresponds to parents with high educational background. So we can't really say that these people are better. Because if you parents don't have academic background. Students with college-educated parents score 90–120 points higher which is about the same, though slightly worse than the home-schooled children. So that means that we home-schooling can be marginally better than public schools. But if the parents aren't educated we don't have any results and this whole debate about home-schooling beeing better is skewed very favourable towards their benefits.

Homeschoolers do better socially than schoolers because they can pick their freinds in meetups and playdates! I hate it when people say "But homeschoolers never see other kids" or "How are you not lonely?"

Also it doesn't cost a lot of money to get what's needed to home educate your kids. School books do not cost that much. School supplies don't cost that much. You will pay 10 times more for public school than home schooling

You don't need to be talented or stop working to home school this is a false narrative. It's recorded that even parents that had no diploma or ged was able to teach their kids and those kids performed better than public school kids

Public compulsory education is about assimilation if you want to assimilate to the dominate culture, socialization control of public school is the most successful path. Any education that you need or want to pursue must be self directed and homeschool can accommodate that in a way that an industrialized assimilative culture control government funded church structure cannot.

Basically all anecdote and poorly structured arguments. Home school so daughter doesnt get pregnant, you gotta be kidding me
@ReturnTheFundI think that we should also consider the low number of homeschool students who take the ACT/SAT compared with those in public school. The higher average score may not be as representative of the overall sample as it seems. Also, parents who can homeschool tend to be more financially stable, so that may influence performance more than the homeschooling.
@BSR-zy2soJust the fact that is says homeschool vs “normal” school- it’s already biased.
@jtika1978It's just social media that's pulling me back
I go to youtube and never learn sometimes it reduces my productivity. My mom is telling me to go to school, but my dad says homeschooling is better. They are divorced, so there is much conflict. I don't know what to do
After teaching for 6 years, now i am a homeschooling mom .
The reason is obvious, i would vote for homeschooling because i have a lot to debate.
Calling government schools "normal" lol
@StrongArmEntertainmentHome schooling sounds great because they can enjoy and learn what they like.
Can someone please mention some of the good homeschooling names. Thank you ❤
Ive been homeschooled my whole life and i love waking up at 9 or ten making whatever i want to eat like bacon eggs or waffles then doing my work then doing what i want the rest of the day instead of staying in class for 8 hours a day learning to be ready for an office job and people say we don’t get to socialize ever heard of going outside making friends online i have a best friend and he gos to public school and were still best friends
@Ex02.5I tried to homes school my cat... . It's tough
@MrUranium238I wanna be homeschoolled ;-; i would be allowed to bring my console like thing but i fear that my "friend" will break it if i dont let him play or just steal it
@Levor_flIf you want to be a sheep and follow the crowd, and do what you are told to do all day, and learn to do what everyone else does, then yes public school is best, if you want to keep your creativity and soul, homeschool your kids.
@GlitchinTheMatrix144It's this simple. Homeschooling has a lot of variability compared to a public school. If done right, homeschooling is far better than public school, and considering how poorly conducted our education system is, homeschooling is typically the better option.
@aaron-v2g6lFor me, I’ve always been socially awkward and never really have much in the way of friends even when I was in school and even with what friends I did have we never really hung out side of school and never really talked over the phone any, and me seeing a lot of people in the comments saying something similar and them saying that’s a good enough reason to just do homeschool but even though I was like that, I still kind of miss school in the sense of that now, me being 40 with no friends at all, still not knowing how to drive, not having any way of getting anywhere without someone else driving me there, and me still living with my parents, that even though I hated school, then I kind of wish I could go back just because now I’m bored out of my mind, and if the pandemic showed us anything, that a lot of people won’t do great without being in a public setting being cooped up in your house 90% of the year
@TheOtakuDisneyFanI wish I was homeschooled.
@ua_na07I taught a year in Catholic School and retired after 26 years in US public schools. Yes, if you do things correctly and have a routine without gaps your kids will far out pace public school. Students in public are poorly motivated and poorly disciplined. We as teachers taught to teach to the test further we cannot move faster than the slowest group in class without losing them. Further, we have to address SPED problems and behavior problems as teachers. I personally sent my kids to Catholic school and it worked very well. Both kids got scholarships to universities. Both kids graduated with honors and one was a Commended National Merit Scholar. Yes home schooling can work very well if you do it correctly in fact their are no limits to how far you can go.
@christianschmidt1556join a homeschool club if you want to socialize then you will want to stop socializing because you have 8 activities in a week and you have work to do
@supperminepopi thought i was crazy at 1:45
@supperminepopInteresting ❤
@chetanrawatjiIt’s dangerous for kids like me. We get beat up, scrutinised and almost half of us have tried to off ourselves, but it’s just not possible for my family…
@CoreyRossRTCI-
The main premise of this video assumes that the parent is the main educator. I’ve been homeschooled since second grade, and not only have I found many extracurricular activities, my parents are not my main teachers. I do a mix of online school and small in person classes taught by an incredible woman with many degrees. Of course, the homeschooled experience is different for everyone, and for some, it is not the right choice. But I faced some pretty bad bullying even in first grade due to my neurodivergency and that meant that homeschooling was a better option for me. You do not need to be a super genius to homeschool your children as this video makes it out. You just need a program, some textbooks, the willingness to help your child if needed (the help they will need will be more while they’re young), and attentiveness to make sure your child is getting what they need outside of academics.
My main issue with videos like this is it also assumes that public schooler are all social geniuses who know all the ins and outs of social situations, there are many people in the public school system who struggle immensely with social anxieties and depression. There are people who struggle socially who are homeschooled and those who struggle socially who were public schooled.
"Traditional school" as used here is a total misnomer. Public school is a new invention, not a tradition. Traditional schooling is what we mean when we say homeschooling.
@knittingmamabear297"Normal"
@RickofUniverseC-137homeschool "wins" time saved 9:06 minutes
@MATHERWOLFMy homeschool parents can only teach me so much, most of what I learn is found online.
@grigoriyefimovichrasputin7897Yeah!
Home school is CLEARLY better then public school!😎
All public school is good for is ticking people off and making people glad when it's over!😡
I have been going to public school my whole life. It’s not all that bad, I mean I have freinds not much homework and stuff. But, I have been thinking about switching to homeschool. I have so much anxiety and stress going to public school and I’m always insecure, so I thought maybe it would help being homeschooled. My mom and dad both work so I would have to be home alone all day, and I have a fear of being home alone so I don’t know how that would work out. Please help me figure out what to do!
@UrMomisslayhsiabsbI like my homeschooling education, we aren’t taught by our parents first off, but I miss about being in the traditional schools was friends. Tbh I don’t have any, and there are ways to get friends while being homeschooled but I just haven’t done anything to get permanent ones
@pinkgreenmelon2209School isn't the only place for kids to socialize. For example, my child will be joining gymnastics and marital arts. You can also make friends with other homeschooling parents in your area and plan events and activities for your kids to do together, even leaning on each other's different skill sets to help each other with subjects you might be less knowledgeable in. You can plan field trips together. The possibilities are really endless. There's also church, if you attend. Public libraries also have lots of things you can sign up for, like chess teams or computer classes. Just saying, school isn't the only place where kids can make friends.
@arseniyzaykovsky3136No left behind - allowing a person who does not go to traditional schools or formal school to go to college without any highschool diploma or history of formal education.
No man behind- allowing peoples without any formal education to practice special jobs as long they are competent and able to do that job
No man ahead- no one must discriminate people who want to job from having job discriminate by employers
No sane person would EVER send their kid to Public School system. This is the definition of Abuse !! These schools are UnSafe and cannot be made safe. Many children Do Not Survive the experience, and a very high percentage who live through it will have all kinds of emotional trauma, mental illness, addictions, STD's, or worse. These kids are in that building for the first FOURTH of their entire life. Public Schools are Abuse !!! It is a completely failed system which needs to be totally dismantled immediately. The very definition of Abuse !!! We need to JUST STOP it.
@pygmalionsrobot1896Homeschooling is a luxury, for families that can afford a stay at home mom (or dad).
Though it might work out ok on a farm or another situation where the parent(s) who bring in the money work from home.
Homeschooling representations: Quasimodo in the hunchback of notre dame disney movie, rapunzel in tangled, cady haron in mean girls and hunter wittabane in the owl house. They know a lot about book based stuff but they don't know how to socialize or talk to a crush.
@nataliapanfichi9933I used to be foundation University Student but, I quit before finished.
I study on my own and I feel better and I’m getting better at scheduling and controlling myself.
Now I noticed that 1 month of self study (7h a day) is more educated than studying in foundation for 8 months.
It's amazing how much has changed in 5 years.
