Both detective and law enforcement officers in this case you can tell really felt for these kids. That one got emotional just thinking about Dan’s reaction to monster who hurt these teens like this. That is the kind of detective you want finding criminals like this.

That hunter being right there at that time saved their lives. I wonder if that cold water actually assisted in slowing bleeding till that hunter got them? If the guy had left them where he shot them they may have not got help in time. Lots of what if of course. It’s wild they both survived this horrific encounter with that monster. Monsters like that will take everything from you and still not see you as a human deserving sympathy. These two were very lucky to survive head shots. You take a chance no matter if you fight with your life it cooperate. I hope my children never come across such an awful human. Danielle’s doctors did a wonderful job fixing her jaw back up after such a horrific injury my goodness.

They left out the most horrific detail about the thing Israel Keyes did to Samantha's family. He included a "proof of life" photo with the ransom note that was left for her dad at the park, only to later discover that Samantha was actually already dead in the photo, and propped up for the camera. Her eyes had been sewn open, and her mouth was duct-taped to pull off the illusion of life. Just heinous. The photo was never released to the public.
It really makes me mad that Keyes unalived himself before revealing all his crimes. He told them he would tell them everything. I guess no one should be shocked he was also a liar.

Thank God, these two sweet souls survived!

I kept waiting. Granted, only minutes. But fearing only she made it. I am so incredibly grateful that they both made it. God bless the hunter that brought them to help. Outstanding police work.

Awful story, very compelling. The music destroys the whole thing, very irritating. Please stop playing music with such a serious story is being told.

I am mind blown how well Dan was able to describe everything in detail from the specifics of the perp, the truck, and remembering the name of the dog. That's some serious recall under pressure.

I told my kids if anyone orders you inside of their vehicle at gun point . No matter what , run , yell do NOT willingly let them take you because your chances of survival are slim to none.

Those two kids are amazing! They survived a brutal ordeal, helped each other, and made sure the perpetrator was put away.

Israel Keyes is one of my "favorite" sickos. All his interrogations are here. Too bad he took the cowards way out, we could have learned so.much from him.

Such a moving story. The resilience and strength of Dan and Dani is remarkable. I’m very glad that they were able to go on & find loving life partners, however I’m also left with the sadness of what might have been between them if not for this terrible encounter. That horrible man even robbed them of their future potential as a couple. Thank you to law enforcement and the gentlemen who helped them by rendering assistance.
This story will definitely stick with me for a while. Wishing a blessed and full life for both Dan and Dani. True heroes in my eyes. Hope your friendship never ends . ❤️

This story of the river definitely says everyone has a purpose in our life and these two didn’t end up as a couple but their life has purpose to both. Happy they are alive

I know it is so scary, but in these situations, RUN scream, make so much noise. Do not submit. Die fighting if you have to. Most of the time if you become difficult, they will abort the mission and it's worth a try. 😢 This is heartbreaking.
