Samsung S95H Review: The Most Versatile OLED We’ve Tested
Video Overview & Insights
The Samsung S95H is a QD-OLED that offers a lot. It’s an incredibly versatile TV that looks amazing in a bright room, has top-tier reflection handling in a bright room, and is one of the best gaming TVs you can buy. It’s not perfect, but are its downsides big enough to choose another flagship OLED?
An interesting thing I just realized is that the S95H comes in a different variant here in Europe. It doesn't have the frame. But supposedly it's identical otherwise... who knows.

No matter how well the S95H performs in reviews and benchmark tests, the negative impact of its matte (MAT) screen coating in everyday use prevents it from delivering the same "this is what a real OLED should look like" experience that the 2026 LG G6 provides.
To me, an OLED display is all about colors that look like wet ink, deep and rich blacks, outstanding depth, and a premium, immersive image. A matte coating takes away much of that signature OLED character.
Until Samsung develops an anti-reflective solution like the one on the LG G6—one that effectively reduces reflections without sacrificing OLED image quality—I won't be buying a matte OLED TV.
I'm currently using a 65-inch S95B, so I'm very familiar with how a glossy OLED panel should look in real-world use.

I think the scoring methodology for direct reflections needs to be reconsidered. A TV shouldn't receive such a high score simply because it reduces direct reflections.
The trade-offs introduced by anti-reflective or matte coatings should also be factored into the final score. Reduced perceived contrast, lower image depth, raised blacks in some viewing conditions, haze, and the impact on perceived color richness all affect the overall viewing experience.
Reflection handling isn't just about how much light is diffused—it's also about what is sacrificed to achieve that result. A more balanced scoring system would evaluate both the benefits and the drawbacks, leading to a fairer assessment of real-world picture quality.

Did someone try taking a dremel tool to the bezel yet? 🤣

People complaining about frame, put a same colour at the backgrohnd and match its width with this border and there you go, the tv will look incredibly thin and floating on that background. As the frame is behind the panel, not on side of it.

Am I the only one that doesn't mind the border?? It's not that big of a deal, and something you won't even notice when you actually watching TV.

That bezel is horrible and there is no option to remove it.
Samsung is surely going downhill.
More User Perspectives
the metallic border is off putting, it would be distracting/shiny and i hope that it will not be a new style that takes hold 1:02
@SM-zr4nc3:43 That looks so trash
@TheoneD11The frame looks great and the picture is amazing in our living room. Especially after 15 years of the same boring designs. If people don't like the frame nobody is forcing them to buy it. Samsung will do fine without them. Very glad the One Connect box is optional. That is the only thing we dont like about our S95F.
@Francis_R_KingzI actually like the frame. Get the feeling I'm in a minority...
@billarmstrong5568Would appreciate an RGB tandem OLED TV review and direct comparisons to the QD OLED counterparts (i.e.s95h 83")
@wogus86Absolutely love it! The floating design aesthetic works perfectly flush mounted in my modern town home. It’s wonderfully bright and the matte screen effectively diffuses light from the floor to ceiling steel & glass doors and windows. I toggle between fine art, photos, HDR aquarium and underwater demos during the day and AppleTV4K+ content in evenings. Only gets better when optionally bezel covers available. Sooo glad I waited and happy to own :-)
@RCAirTubei had mixed feelings about the metal frame before i got the tv, but now i absolutely love it, it honestly looks premium and makes the viewing experience much nicer
@1-ms-1That frame and the matte coating are terrible. Samsung needs to give us matte and gloss options. I'll be waiting for Sony's QD-OLEDs in 2027 with hopefully a 77 inch size.
@spartan2188That frame is the most dissapointing thing that Samsung has ever done. It looks so bad and takes so much of the immersion....At least they should have given the option to be removed.
@Dan_ChipXHow can you be happy with a tv that has matte coating + a disgusting design ?
@adamaa39Anyone test input delay with the wireless one connect yet?
@TheKesavan08Wait for retail version review
@HungryEatNowCook
@Rima-zhuliniao_BirdDanceWonderful video I absolutely HATE the bezel and I'm going to hate it even more when next years model doesn't have it anymore and I'm stuck with the 77 I just ordered smh ahhh oh well the picture quality will help me forget about this I hope
@romeitaly8524I just don't understand... Why is this the most versatile while from the second the ambient lighting rise a little, it's going to get a greyish color instead of pure black... This matte coating is a misunderstanding! LG does handling reflection just fine and at least, it's maintaining it's blacks in non-dark environment too. This frame is also a little strange but that's personal. This matte coating is an obvious disadvantage and a deal breaker for me! It's a delusion. In brighter environment it looks like an old plasma/LCD because of the greyish tone caused by the matte coating! Sooo stupid. Especially on an OLED. I believe LG has made the right decision on this one, not samsung. That HDR color accuracy is exceptional tho!
@SunflowerSun4No Dolby Vision i can not invest in this tv
@bhawes8Everybody whining about the border.. I’m not wall mounting mine so I actually don’t think it’s all that bad especially on my 77 inch 👍 to each their own
@eastcoastlife3547Correction the Samsung is not just QD Oled, its Penta Tandem QD Oled up to 77", big difference and why the picture is the best in 2026 in my humble opinion, do you guys don't do your Research.
@HDZ77In Europe there's the S99H (with frame) and S95H (without frame) and I really don't understand why they didn't do that globally.
@RealLifeTech187I actually like that design. It stands out compared to virtually all the other TVs on the market. Remember the good ol' days when nearly everything you bought, even within the same category of electronics looked different from one another?
@J-fi9bqI have a G5 and an S95F. I like the glossy screen of G5 in a dark room for movies, but when it comes to gaming, the S95F simply destroys the G5. Too bad the S95H has the bezel.
@HDR-Gaming-ChannelThe design is absolutely atrocious. It's the BMW of Smart TVs.
@BronasisEUThat silver frame is so distracting what an odd decision should of made an option to be able to remove it if we didn’t want to use it.
@Lockdown-k7qEverything other than Dolby Vision......
@DOGMA1138This lady...
@AndresGrimaceNot one modern television has solved 24p stutter, and this is why I am moving to a projector to watch my collection of physical media
@wolfmanjacksaidThe bezel has 10,900 nits
@modernwizeI bought the 77 version of this tv along with the wireless one connect, our intent was to use it as frame in the living room, but the wireless connections are unstable, tv frequently restarts whether we use a firestick or a a PC, now i have requested the return of tv as our original plan will not work if wireless connections are unstable
@AkashShruti-k8qThat’s one physically ugly tv
@godspeedmaximusHello miss Bec your review is really enjoyable to listen to, you are really cheerful and it is a real pleasure, continue like this and well done.
about the product, i agree with the other the Frame must go away. For the finish I used to like matte coating for monitors as anyway before oled the black were not really black but since oled I really prefer glossy especially on tv. On oled monitor I'm balanced between the 2, if you can avoid direct and indirect lighting then glossy is ok otherwise matte is much less stressful for the eyes to work on all day at the cost of color being a bit dull.
I wanted to get the SONY Bravia 9, that's why I asked you how satisfied you were with it. After I went to the store to look at three TVs, the next one was the LG G5 77inch (oled). The picture on the LG was brutal compared to the SONY Bravia 9 (oled is oled). I decided on the LG G5, after two days in Elips there was a sale for such an LG G5 77inch for €2299. . I am very satisfied with the G5. For fantasy movies, even better for the PS5. Brightness in HDR up to 3000nit. I also looked at the Sony Bravia 8II oled, but they don't work with screen sizes larger than 65inch,
@ZaksZakssNo dolby vision, no speakers, NO GO.
