Saagar Enjeti on Trump: “Greatest professional disappointment in my life” | Bulwark Podcast

Video Overview & Insights

One of the biggest America First fans tells Tim that he thought Trump 2.0 would be different because like-minded, high-level personnel—including the vice president and top DOD staff—were supposed to stop Trump from doing stupid wars like the strategic catastrophe unfolding in and around Iran. And Trump’s mass deportation was supposed to crack down on the labor practices of big business and Big Ag, but POTUS instead is sticking with the Chamber of Commerce status quo. Saagar now regrets his vote for Trump. Plus, the difference between MAGA and America First, a different take on Epstein, Venezuela red-pilled Trump, and the U.S. may be facing a major shortage of munitions because of the latest shock and awe campaign.

Says the people who had faith in the people who said “ Biden is as sharp as a tack “ .

Saager is the worst. 1) He is absolutely not as smart as he thinks, (2) he deflects with the best of them, and (3) another rich kid who doesn't actually know what being an Average American means.

Show Notes:

Bulwark Republicans spent their entire professional careers prior to trump laying the groundwork for Trump. They have no right to act horrified that this is what their work led to

Anyone who had faith in the 2 parties is an idiot - why constrain that to just Trump? It's all completely broken.

One correction to Saagars comment that “immigrants with no high school education have no hope”. If you work in the restaurant industry you find LOTS of people with no high school degrees, maybe with very poor English. They do good work and keep those restaurants running and their kids go on to get education.

While I don't feel weed is all that good for you, my experience with weed is far greater than this guy talking. The effects vary considerably on person to person. I had a room mate who was an overhead bridge craneman in a foundry. Stoned everyday at work and successfully did his job everyday for many years. I know I could not do that. I was an occasional user but but for quite a few years ran with a loose knit group of weed dealers where I was the only one with a regular job. Never saw violence between 2 weed smokers, direct opposite of alcohol abuse. It did not appear to have any noticable permanent effects on any of the them. I could go on but this guy is full of it.

Say what you want about this guy; I found this interview an entirely constructive endeavour. Our civilization is losing the capacity for people of differing ideologies to sit together and explore these differences and look for common ground. That Mr. Enjeti is willing to air his regrets and explain his position to his ideological "adversaries" is the sort of thing we should be encouraging, regardless of whatever motivations one might ascribe to him. I congratulate Tim Miller (himself an exiled neo-con admired by liberals) for pursuing this interview, and points go to his guest for finally accepting.

I've never been particularly impressed with Sagar. He seems to have wrapped himself in pretzels in this Trump era

@88Boylemaker

He’d probably still vote for Trump if Trump ran for an illegitimate 3rd term. Lol
I hate ppl like this. Always wanting to school you, when he has been so fucking wrong about way to much.

Saagar is the guy who said all Canadians hate each other.

See thats where your wrong immigration is the only thing trump made a good faith try on. The crazy people ruined it by protesting ice. They where very hosnest about what they where doing. If the liberal judges and states just did what they where supposed to do like the republican states ice would just have to pick these people up from jail instead of going to get them.

@sonny-rush1388

He’s a dumbass who can’t defend his positions with anything by “my values.” No facts. No analysis. Stop treating this guy like an adult. Good grief.

Very happy to hear this debate between two opposing views. I agree with Bulwark, but the other gentleman has some interesting views, whether I agree with him or not. This is how we have to come together.

This is a much more interesting interview than I anticipated. Saagar clearly has a very good grounding in military logistics, capabilities and state of readiness of the US... I'll bet he has "Janes" as his favorite reading material. But his rapid delivery is no substitute for understanding the bigger geopolitical picture, which he clearly does not. If the weaponry and support that trump has devoted to his military "excursions" had been employed towards the support of Ukraine, Putin's invasion and government would likely have collapsed by now. Even with the minimal assistance from trump that Ukraine has received, the Russians are getting their asses kicked. The only reason that Putin has not thrown in the towel is because of the lifelines that trump continuously throws him.
The President and his Secretary of War Crimes have embarked on one ill-advised aggressive military action after another, with each successive one lessening our collective readiness for the next major conflict we will face. Trump has been actively trying to force Ukraine to surrender to Putin, for his own devious reasons that have nothing to do with the interests of the American people. If Xi Jinping had any doubts about attempting to take over Taiwan before trump's latest blunders, he no doubt sees nothing stopping him now. In watching this fellow, people should bear in mind, that this guy does not seem to have had any problem with the entire "Project 2025" agenda that he voted for. He's OK with DOGE, ICE, attempting another auto- coup (ongoing), pardoning of violent insurrectionists, continuously lying to the people etc., etc. He also does not understand that NATO has been the most effective and successful military alliance in recorded history, and worth every penny the US has ever put into it.
This guy thinks knowing a lot of facts and talking fast makes one's arguments more persuasive... In regard to the idiots who have ever voted for trump he is correct. Like a blind squirrel who has found an acorn, he is right about how foolish the trump/hegseth military adventurism has been. But otherwise, he still rationalizes and justifies the rest of the sordid and despicable agenda he has supported. Saagar is a typical apologist for fascist ideas wrapped up in glib delivery and a smug self-assurance that they are smart enough to ride the tiger they have supported without falling off. He and his ilk had best prepare to be eaten by the monster they have enabled. I'm one of your shameless 2%ers. You have to be these days to separate the wheat from the chaff hucksters like him are peddling.

Big Weed people, you heard it here! Saagar says all those hippies lobbying DC are destroying the country and making it stinky to boot.

Big Weed’s lobbyists are the worst…”Look, I appreciate you guys offering to organize some of our campaign events, but we aren’t having the fundraiser at Taco Bell”.

I think Trump ran into a wall with domestic policy with the courts and protestations, and he discovered the one area where he can sort of do whatever he wants was foreign policy, so he started focusing there.

Why are we listening to anyone that voted for Trump?!! I don't respect anyones opinion that couldn't predict this calamity especially after his first disastrous term! Ditch this dipstick--Trump-who the hell picked his dang cabinet as well as diplomats etc.. And yes, Saagar is an idiot trying to redeem his crappy reputation. Saagar's creepy.

All these talking heads now will vote again for Trump for a 3rd term - WHY? Because Trump will spin his con (Biden, Obaman, Hunter's laptop, Gays, Lesbians, Trans...etc) they will buy it and vote him in again.

The USA is launching an average ratio 100-to-1 cost ratio for every interceptor to knock down a 3D-drone with lawnmower engine that is costing the Iranian $20k.

- SM-6: $4.3M - $9.5M (High-end/Ballistic)
- Patriot: $4M - $12.7M (Land-based)
- SM-2: $2.1M (Ship air defense)
- ESSM: $1.7M - $1.8M (Medium-range)
- RAM: $900k - $1M (Short-range)

He says Our troops won’t commit crimes against civilians. BS!.they raped, killed millions of civilians, in the Iraq war. Julian Assange was hunted down for exposing all that crap. The U.S. is responsible for interfering in countries for corporate and U.S. national interests. They did it in Iran, joining the British, to reinstall the Brutal Shah of Iran and removing President Mossadegh to stop him from nationalizing Iranian oil.
