Saw rush live for the first time in the Hammond Indiana Civic center in 1976. Had to special order their album from Canada. Wasn't available at the record store. Before the show this guy is walking around with a metal coffee can full of white powder and dumping it into more coffee cans on the stage. Then he looked around and he dumped more white powder into the coffee cans and walked away. Then they opened up with 2112. About 3 minutes into 2112 Neil Peart twirled his drumsticks in each hand and threw them up in the air about 20 ft.! He caught both sticks. Click them together. Then hit the drums. That's when the flash pots went off like a Hiroshima nuclear bomb! Blew the whole first 10 rows to the ground. Everybody stood up screaming! Been a huge rush fan ever since. Never seen a show like that even a kiss show. I wish I could see him do 2112 exactly like the album one more time. Wish they would come to sugar Land Texas. But I'm sure that won't happen. RIP Neil. Glad to see Gary and Alex are still rocking. My favorite band ever. Number one. Rush. Then led Zeppelin. Then Black Sabbath. Then Stevie Ray Vaughan

Highest pressure drum gig of all time. Seriously, there couldn't possibly be a more scrutinized gig ever than Anika stepping in for Peart.

Maybe they'll get into authentic music composed and performed by real musicians. I hope that will be at least one legacy of the Rush tour.
