I know this is old but I've got an extremely old computer and now that I have the money to buy stuff like this I want to build a completely new computer capable of 4k. Should I buy the 5090 for this purpose or is it better to get something else? I originally was going to get the 4090 cause I've heard some say it's better for raw 4k where as the 50 series like the 5090 sometimes requires dlss and frame gen. Money is not an issue and I want the best of the best since I'm building a new computer from scratch. If anyone can help I'd be very grateful.

Intel Arc just happens to die right after Nvidia bought some of intel. They will be using Nvidia iGPUs in intel chips eventually. Then Nvidia profits on every chip intel sells in two ways. The charge them fo rthe GPUs and 10% of their purchase just goes right back to them because they own 10% of intel. This is a monopoly by definition. It is illegal without government exceptions. Guess how much those cost even though they aren't supposed to be for sale...

As someone who had a 1050ti since its realse. And upgrade to a 6750xt 3 years ago. And now have a 9070xt. My goal is every 2 gens. BUT i have a dream to go to amds NEXT GEN HIGHEST if they make one. If not then im waiting 2 gens. I don't see enough of a jump between 1 gen imo atleast
@LunarS24Nvidia's last two generations of cards and AMD's current gen were stripped of processing power and they replaced it with software that generates the frames instead of actually computing and rendering the frames. The huge difference that people need to understand is that in competitive gaming generated frames don't prove shit, rendered frames prove you got the head shot first. It's your math, vs their math and frames that are invented out of nowhere as a blend between two rendered frames don't count. I refuse to use the technology.

@lesethedudeI think there should be separate chip for gamers edition, Crypto mining edition and Ai Edition.
This way Nvidia can ship their chip to whom g0vt dont want chip to be sold.
So only red tape on Ai Cards or chips. Rest gamer edtion or miner edition should be available for sale without red tape.
This way you can keep all the audience happy and keep making money from budget customer as well along with Ai giants.

@Bbuy-v8qI’m curious why the GPU clock drops so drastically.
I have a 5090 Suprim LC SOC as well, and I’m seeing very similar behavior, which you also have (From 2850 to 2690).
Temps stay around 54–55°C, power draw is ~600W, but clocks still drop from ~2950 MHz down to ~2800 MHz.
For example, in PoE 2 I see frequent drops, and in benchmarks like Steel Nomad, my average clock is only ~2800–2850 MHz.
At some games, like KCD 2 I have stable 2950.
At some benchmarks, I have also around 2900+, but with higher temps (close to 60), I get less GPU clock, but with a tiny fps difference.
Also looked at some videos where people easily get a stable 3100MHZ+ at heavy benchmarks like a Steel Nomad.
Do you think this is the expected power/voltage behavior of the GPU or something driver-related?

@ReeatorThe only way out of this mess is that we stop playing games with our eyes this much. Instead of relying on graphics for immersion we just have to kickstart our imagination again😂

@MuhammadRafif-razor4K is not tough to run. Running it at overrated and unnecessary Ultra settings can be tough. But I'll take lower 4K settings (sometimes at custom resolutions like 3840x1600) over 1080p Ultra settings hands down. After 10 years of gaming in 4K I think it is time to upgrade to 5K2K or 6K, maybe even 8K (7680x3200).

@gto1607What is the point having a DP2.1A monitor Plouffe if your card does not support DP2.1b, only the 50xx series supports DP2.1b afaik, only the 4090 supports DP1.4a along with the latest AMD video cards.
