Want to go deeper into Scripture and traditions of the Church? Try Verbum free for 60 days: verbum.com/theway

ā€œYou trust the Catholic Church for your Sola Scripturaā€¦ā€ This is already a false premise from the start. Also, Sola Scriptura means that the Bible, alone, is the ultimate and infallible authority for Christian faith and practice. The Word of God will always supersede councils of men when there is a conflict. Hence, Sola Scriptura.

A Roman Catholic Priest and a Non-Denominational Christian go head-to-head in a theological clash. From the literal flesh of the Eucharist to the ultimate authority of the Vatican and the Pope, nothing is off-limits. Does salvation require the physical water of baptism? Did the modern Catholic Church hijack early Christianity? Watch as 2,000 years of Magisterial tradition collide directly with strict biblical interpretation.

@thewaywithbriandavila at the beginning of this video you pose a question why Protestants accept the scriptures from the Roman Catholic Church but reject their teachings. lolšŸ˜‚ this is so lame, I hear it all the time, Roman Catholics repeat this in the same way Muslims say Jesus was a Muslim! It’s so idiotic!! The Roman Catholic Church did not even exist for the first 300 years of the early church. Now, the early church was ā€œCatholicā€ but not Roman at all!!! The Romans were still killing the Catholic Christians up until ~325 ad. The early church fathers had the canon long before any council!!! Ireneaus, hyppolytus, and origin all listed all NT books way before 252 AD. But original already explains where the corrupted ideas that the later Roman church adopted like when he said many already hated revelations because it spoke about the literal 1,000 year of Christ! Which the Roman church begin in 324 ad with Eusibius to abolish and fully adopted later as an amillenium view!! Which completely derails the Roman church from the teachings of the early fathers who gave us the scriptures and the Protestants follow their teachings more closely. So while Roman Catholics are Christians if they trust in Jesus for their salvation and not their own righteousness, Protestants too are Christians. I hate this war about Protestants and Roman Catholics. I wish people started to listen more rather than stick to believing whole heartily the traditions of men rather than God!!! From both sides! ā¤ā¤ā¤

One day, he (the protestant) will experience it for himself, and he will not be able to deny his Lord. I was a skeptic once too. Sit in adoration and ask for Jesus to be present.

Wow, this priest is rewriting history. I don’t know anywhere in the scriptures where it’s correlating the things he’s correlating he’s making things up as he goes along pretty easy when you’re not using the scriptures the Catholics believe Jesus is God as do many other religions, but the Bible says that Jesus is the first born of all creation, the son of the living God this is mentioned not only by Jesus, the apostles, but also the demons. Jesus went to the garden to pray to his father because he would have to die an ignominious death, and he did not want his fatherā€˜s name besmirched by what was going to happen to him, and he needed strength from his father which he got. Every time this priest opens his mouth. It’s like leaven coming out of his mouth every time he speaks.

Sorry, I guess I’m doing this blow for blow, but this priest was talking about spending time praying to Jesus. I believe the scripture say that we should pray to God through Jesus. A question I have is do either one of them know who God is? All you have to do is Google what is the personal name of God in the Bible? It will tell you.

Roman Catholic Priest: Father Daniel Seo

Ourladyofpeaceshrine.org

As far as him saying, you have to eat of his body and drink of his blood, he was telling his followers they had to go through the same thing he went through, which they all did they died. They gave their life. They gave their blood hello. And the reason this priest keep butting in on the other guy is because he’s really not making a good defense and the easiest thing to do is stop the other person from talking. It’s such a clichĆ©.

If you would like to film with Brian or would like Brian to film with your Priest or Pastor, reach out to him here:

Another reason why the Catholics don’t know what they’re talking about is that unleavened bread is a cracker what makes bread bread and what makes a cracker, a cracker yeast or the lack of. Both are made of flour and water. It’s the yeast that makes the difference one rises and one does not on top of that. The whole purpose of bringing out the point of unleavened was the false teachings. False teachings was like leavened Bread which leaven or yeast spreads throughout the flower and water. The apostles were told to worship in truth and spirit.

— @bobreichel

BrianDavilarealestate@gmail.com OR on Instagram @thebriandavila

I’m sorry, but this Catholic guy is crazy. When Jesus spoke about the bread and the blood, it was a representation. It was not to be literal. It was to represent that Jesus was willing to give his life and pour out his blood so that mankind could be redeemed back to God because of what Adam lost. They’re missing the whole point. He also read in the scriptures that on the last day these would be resurrected yet the Catholics believe when you die, you either go to heaven or hell so what’s up about that?

Why is this priest acting like he’s speaking to 4 year olds? His explanations are horrible. He’s insinuating that Mary moves Jesus to start the miracle at the wedding at canaa. Blasphemy.

@dmdennis4

i gotta ask the non denom guy, is it insulting to him to say the apostles had a closer relationship with God than him because they received Him physically? how is that insulting?

I was once engaged to a Catholic woman. I am grateful that she called it off. I just didn't agree 47 years ago and still don't agree with the teachings of the Catholic Church.

This was cute, maybe have the priest have this debate with someone who is actually knowledgeable in the Bible. Have the priest sit down with Joby Martin or Mike Gendron. This poor kid is not equipped to have this conversation. This is a sad attempt to convince people that Catholic practices are inline with Biblical teachings. We pray that Catholics find true salvation in faith!!

@DRArsenal

The Protestant religion started from King Henry the 8th wanting not to follow the church rules the Catholic Church rules. Protestant Church is only 500 years old or less . The Catholic Church is 2000 years old it's the first one of all of them. Is the one that Christ started with Peter the rock where Christ built his church The first Pope Peter.

@iberiana59

You're never going to be safe so that you know by the way you believe.

@iberiana59

It shows how close-minded this person is, it cannot see what the priest is trying to teach him.

@iberiana59
@

This guy it is arguing with the priest... seriously you are so stuck on your own belief that you don't have an open brain to listen. Just because you believe in the Bible and read the Bible doesn't save you.

@iberiana59
@

The Protestant religion started with Henry the 8th of England wanting for the Pope to give him freedom from his wife... so that he could sleep around and get divorced from his wife and marry other woman. The Pope told him no so he created His own church to do whatever he wanted. Even today the king of England is the head of the Protestant church of England. so you're praying to the king of England not to Christ.

@iberiana59
@

So when the bible say " He , God hides me under his wings" would that make him a bird or chicken? It's super clear that this is symbolic.

@jesusislordtw4690

The difference for me is found in the Gospel of John Chapter 6. The Body and the Blood. Great crowds of followers. Feeding multitudes. Power over nature. Bread of Life. Foretelling the Future.

@pedrotinaco1
@

Don't know if this is a good or logical comparison but, non-denominational christians believed that Jesus Christ is Both a man and a God at the same time right? Why is it so hard to believe that the bread and wine in the Eucharist can become Jesus' actual flesh and blood, all while still looking like an ordinary bread and wine?

@alexeiv1121

Priest is cooking !
Man these Protestants really out here with no actual faith in what Jesus is saying ! Every time he asks or offers his own reasoning , I roll my eyes so hard and I don’t think that’s me being too harsh, it’s me not understanding why he can’t see the truth or understand !? He seems to be more of a contrarian to every single point. The priest is laying it all out there ! and This guy sounds so deeply engrained in the typical Protestants stubborn teachings. Study history of the church ! ask for wisdom . The priest is outstanding in explaining all of these things. I hope this Protestant considers these things seriously.

First, The Didache predates Justin Martyr. Grant Owen misses that the Bible is very clear that the traditions should be supported. Two main passages:
2 Thessalonians 2:1 - "Stand firm and hold to the traditions you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us."
That's the clearest direct statement. Paul explicitly includes oral tradition alongside written.
2 Thessalonians 3:6 - "Keep away from any brother who walks in idleness and not in accord with the tradition you received from us."
1 Corinthians 11:2 - "I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you." So how this guy stands against tradition on one hand and then say follow the Bible in the next seems contradictory. And grant says after Christ, no one has any authority. It that's true, then Christ was wrong when He made Peter the leader, and gave him the keys to the Kingdom. Peter and all the Apostles were breathed on by Christ and knew Him personally. If those credentials do not separate them from all others, then just interpret anything the way you see fit and then you get 10,000 churches. Peter exercised his authority repeatedly as Bishop of Rome. He corrected Paul. He corrected other Bishops. He decided who would replace Judas. He trained and appointed Linus as the next Pope. There was no confusion. The church fathers all reference the fact that the seat of Rome is authoritative and any who sit in it carry it. And how Grant puts himself on their level is just astonishing to me.

I was born and raised Catholic. Ran away from my faith for YEARS like FAR AWAY. God found me where I was broken. He sent me to a non denom church, I experienced the love of Christ. The inportance of community. And I experience the Holy Spirit. For the last 4 years I’ve been feeling the call to go back to the Catholic Church. I’ve been refusing. Not listening. Until I was on my end and I broke again. I went to the Catholic Church. Received the Eucharist and it was like my soul had FINALLY been fed. I still have so many questions. But when I tell you when I was in the Catholic Church I felt like a dog drolling about to eat for the first time all day. I still have SO MANY questions. Doubts. But there’s something there. The Eucharist is something special

The dark ages comment really revealed the historical ignorance. I wonder if he even knows why europe was in a "dark age" and how the catholic church was pivotal in saving christendom until the point where luther could even throw away the deposit of faith in the first place.

Why didn’t Jesus tear off his flesh and give it to him when he was in the presence of the apostles and then cut his wrist to give them blood can you tell me why he did not do that?

Baptism of little ones:

Little children are alive in Christ because of the Atonement.
5 For, if I have learned the truth, there have been disputations among you concerning the baptism of your little children.
6 And now, my son, I desire that ye should labor diligently, that this gross error should be removed from among you; for, for this intent I have written this epistle.
7 For immediately after I had learned these things of you I inquired of the Lord concerning the matter. And the word of the Lord came to me by the power of the Holy Ghost, saying:
8 Listen to the words of Christ, your Redeemer, your Lord and your God. Behold, I came into the world not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance; the wholeneed no physician, but they that are sick; wherefore, little children are whole, for they are not capable of committing sin; wherefore the curse of Adam is taken from them in me, that it hath no power over them; and the law of circumcision is done away in me.
9 And after this manner did the Holy Ghost manifest the word of God unto me; wherefore, my beloved son, I know that it is solemn mockerybefore God, that ye should baptize little children.
10 Behold I say unto you that this thing shall ye teach—repentance and baptism unto those who are accountable and capable of committing sin; yea, teach parents that they must repent and be baptized, and humble themselves as their little children, and they shall all be saved with their little children.
11 And their little children need no repentance, neither baptism. Behold, baptism is unto repentance to the fulfilling the commandments unto the remission of sins.
12 But little children are alive in Christ, even from the foundation of the world; if not so, God is a partial God, and also a changeable God, and a respecter to persons; for how many little children have died without baptism!
13 Wherefore, if little children could not be saved without baptism, these must have gone to an endless hell.
14 Behold I say unto you, that he that supposeth that little children need baptism is in the gall of bitterness and in the bonds of iniquity; for he hath neither faith, hope, nor charity; wherefore, should he be cut off while in the thought, he must go down to hell.

I'm a Protestant with one side of the family devout mormon and the other side protestant Christian. I personally am 100% NOT a mormon. I have been diving into Catholicism in an attempt to understand the various differences between Protestants and Catholics. After watching this I think I'll just stay a Protestant

This priest is ignorant of scripture. Lmfao…this is to funny.

@Arandomname214

The main problem with Catholics is there look for a man to help them understand…but it is the Holy Spirit only that can give divine revelation. Like when you really need something and your praying and you cry out to God and you read a scripture and speaks to your soul.

@Arandomname214

Read Paul’s letters to the church he is instructing the first churches and over again…he condemns the added on tradition and other drummed up earthly crap… I go by the Word of God.

Watching this late, this is disappointing video. The so-called Protestant really has a very little understanding, and I would almost look at him at the point of just being a total atheist

So by the catholic perspective if you dont eat or drink the eucharist it doesnt matter if you believe in christs passion and that he died for the forgiveness of our sins you go to hell? So how is that saved through grace and not deeds? And if so everyone before christ and anyone that isnt catholic is going to hell?

@concernedcitizenzz

It’s so frustrating to hear the Protestant claim to interpret the scripture and then completely ignore all the verses that say the church has authority.

@khaila-h8b

So, Jesus' substance- His human body looks, reacts, etc. the same as a human. But His "incidental, Him as God" is something you can't see, but must believe is there. Like in the Eucharist. The substance, the bread, stays the same, but the incidental, Jesus IN the bread is something that is believed. - Not taking into account the Eucharistic Miracles world wide that show all miracles are the same blood type, from the same cardiac muscle under stress.-

Jesus said in Isaiah 55 - Come, all you who are thirsty, give ear and come to me, listen, that you may live. John 8:31-32 - Be a true follower of Christ. John 14:23 - TRUST, LOVE AND OBEY His word and His teaching EVERYDAY. Proverbs 3:5-6 - DO NOT LEAN AND FOCUS ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING OR HUMAN LIMITS - Isaiah 55: 8-9. THERE IS NONE HOLY LIKE THE LORD - 1 Samuel 2:2.

Because even demons believe, merely acknowledging God or having intellectual religion. Matthew 7:18 - You will recognize them by their fruit because every good tree bears good fruit (Jesus Christ's character), but a bad tree bears bad fruit .

Being a good person/humanity person, Being His a devoted follower/disciple/leader, Being an ideology person(belief/value), Being a religius/spiritual person and do religius works/good deeds/do works in Jesus name/trust in God with their lips BUT we DISOBEY His word, His will and His teaching on a daily basis - Matthew 7:21-23.

Proverbs 3:5-6 - Do not relying on human limits, the Bible says we must trust completely to Jesus and His word. Because in Ephesians 6:14-15 - Even demons believe, merely acknowledging God or having intellectual religion. John 14:6 -Ā  Trust, obey, live like in the Bible and build a true relationship with Jesus EVERYDAY.
