@FrenchQuarterLitThe land that is Rockefeller college was originally granted to Kngs College (now Columbia university) by the state of ny in 1814from land claims related to the original Kings farm and Columbia later leased this land to the rockefellers. So not directly from the queen it connects through historical royal land grants that became university property before center was built..Columbia never used it as they did not like the location and built further east before heading uptown to present location...Columbia owned the land beneath the center only selling to rockefellers in 1985.Kings college founded 1754...Tishman speyer and the Crown family bought it in 2000..
