When Robin Schulz released his single “Sugar” (feat. Francesco Yates) in the summer of 2015, he once again proved his uncanny knack for earworm melodies and genre-defying grooves. With its unmistakable sample loop, catchy hook, and that perfect bittersweet blend of melancholy and dancefloor energy, “Sugar” hit a nerve. A decade later, the track has earned its place among the timeless club anthems of the 2010s, the music video featuring a dance-happy cop has reached cult status – and the accompanying album? Straight-up pop history.

The single “Sugar” (feat. Francesco Yates) arrived in July 2015, followed by the full-length album on September 25 – and both have since grown into massive global streaming giants. The title track alone has racked up more than 3 billion streams worldwide, 12 million Shazams, and close to 1 billion views on YouTube – making it the third most-watched music video by a German act ever. In Germany, the song was honored with a Diamond Award, and it’s also gone Platinum in the US and Double Platinum in the UK. On German radio, the track has surpassed 100,000 spins – proof that “Sugar” is a certified evergreen.

The album left no doubt that Robin Schulz ranks among Germany’s most successful international exports. Certified Gold in Germany, it’s amassed around 4.5 billion streams globally and spawned a string of hit singles including “Headlights” (feat. Ilsey), “Heatwave” (feat. Akon), and “Show Me Love” (with Richard Judge). The latter two reached #2 and #6 respectively on the official German singles chart, while both topped the German airplay charts.

After celebrating 10 years since the release of “Prayer in C” and a decade on stage in 2024, summer 2025 will be all about “10 Years of ‘Sugar’”. To mark the anniversary, a first new remix version of the song by Brazilian DJ/producer shooting star Zerb will be released on September 12. September will also see the second part of Robin Schulz's summer residency at Pacha Ibiza this year. He will be joined by high-profile support acts such as Topic, Icona Pop and Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano.The grand finale? His closing set on September 27 – just two days after the 10-year anniversary of the album’s original release.
