Red Bull RB22 - Aerodynamics Analysis and Initial Thoughts

Video Overview & Insights

We were expecting a show car only, but the secondary images from the launch revealed a whole bunch more! It may not be the final testing spec, but its's certainly some level of developed car.

Welcome to the first launch of the season! Hope you like the analysis!

— @KYLEENGINEERS

00:00 Introduction

0:59 Front Wing

would be great to have an analysis of the real car after testing/australia

— @MrSaiboo

07:57 Front Caketin

10:32 Forward Floor

Which years is "two generations ago"? The first hybrid engine era? 2014-2021/2022 or whenever ground effect restarted?

— @Matoyak

11:35 Floor Board

16:19 Sidepod

which designing software would you recommend to design aerodynamics parts other than solidworks?
Would be greatly helpful.

— @sohamdhage6816

18:53 Floor Corner

20:24 Rear Wing

Nice. Too bad this video is not of any use regarding the real RB22's bodywork, which turned out to be very different.

Are you going to do an update video since these renders do not match the actual car on test day? Thought it was clear this was just a render for the livery reveal and not their actual car.

@SixArmedPriest

Turns out, it looks nothing like this

I really like the RB22. Interesting Explanations around the chassis. Max is already happy that he can do the first practice laps. I'm really looking forward to this F1 season in 2026. Max Verstappen is the absolute GOAT!

The front wings remind me of 2006-8 (roughly) cars, with them being narrower than the tires.

@cedricl.marquard6273

6:40 these look like they made to push aero over the tyers into the side barge boards skirting over rear tyers then caught by whoever is behind to get sucked in for overtaking......

Is a guess

Dont you think that the vortex from the FW endplate vane could pair with the vortex from the vortex tunnel to empower the outboard tire wake "battle" because the vortex tunnel can create a low pressure vortex in my opinion which looks like is aimed at the outboard of the wheel. Maybe even all 3 vortices (from vane, winglet and vortex tunnel) colaborate in some way at the outbaord section.

@adamkasicka9158
@

looks very similar to RB21

@Kilowatt8664

The front wing winglet vortex conviniently align with the brake cooling duck this way the turbulant air increase the brake cooling.

Thnx as ever Kyle!

@joostvm4350

This is very unlikely to be the final car!!! F1 teams show the car usually, but mostly to show the design... but they don't show the final version with the aerodynamics details to prevent others from copying!!!

@tomasrutkowski3792
@

i like how the front of the nose is giving 2010 f1

@POPsicle-r4x
@

Isn’t this a waste of time given it’s a show car?

@mitchdaytonam3
@

Saludos kyle , sería bueno tener la opción de pista de Audio en español , ya que no hay quien realice estos análisis en español , gracias Saludos desde México 🇲🇽

@OscarJuárez-r7i
@

Why? This isn’t the actual car

@marcinszulinski6754
@

This time it is less about aerodynamics and more about mental gymnastics

@dr.python
@

@KYLEENGINEERS how would I get started with aerodynamics

@NicholasHill-q5g
@

if you would be honest about your videos, you would know these cars are not the real cars that will be on the track.... absolutely no point of analyzing them

@isti1986
@

rb two two 😂

@JunJun238
@

The car engine is garbage, and Red Bull will fight for the last points in every race. FACTS!!!

@konzekuenze
@

Thsiis is not even the real car, what you are analizing...

@TheSmolnov
@

Making all this just from a delivery car.🤣🤣🤣

@4pina
@

Babe, wake up! New season of Kyle Engineer’s just dropped

@xXSlImReEfErXx
@

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is nothing in that car that will be in the same shape in Australia. So what's the point of analysing a show car?

@gustavocavalcanti86
@

The overall design of the regulations looks so much better now… the ground effect cars just looked too bubbly and weird to me.

@Liam94Smith
@

Were you an aerodynamics for Mercedes F1? Bore off. 🥱 💤 😴 💤

@greigsanderson
@

Looking forward to some Ford domination

@littletweeter1327
@

Bruh you are doing aero analysis on a placeholder car. This is NOT the car you are going to see on the first day of testing. Not even close

@NarsonX
@

11:45 this part just doesn't look like something that's anywhere near finished to me. I can't explain it, and obviously all this stuff will change before/during/after testing, but to me it's like a rough blocked in shape. It's like they just tossed shapes into a CAD or blender, and still have to actually shape the part.

@mcgoo721
@

Actually looks better than expected.

@Markusgebvor
@

Where are these images from??

@Tassadar4Ever
@

I hope you realise that is a dummy car provided by FIA to show off the livery, right? Red Bull wouldnt want to reveal their specs before the actual first race obviously. I feel like this is clickbait by people who dont know anything about what theyre doing

@MagnumOpusJ9W
@

What a great explanation. Somehow manages to make it feel intuitive while spotting all the small details. Excellent.

@foggylensefilms4735
@

so we are going back to the merc era cars then haha so the whole point of the last regs was to get away from those cars and we end up back with them more or less so what was the point in the previous regs if were going back to 2020 regs more or less

@zattanna74
@

so i just read a post from another Aerodynamicist and he only took apart the Racing Bulls car and said what Red Bull showed us is probably just a combination of ideas that didn't make it to the actual car and this is a load of BS that car will look completely different the side pods are a joke when you look at both cars side by side

@Mastoblood
@

ITS JUST THE FIA SHOWCAR…..ITS NOTTHE RB22 😂😂😂
Stop analyzing 😂😂😂😂
It was ONLY THE LIVERY LAUNCH

@Redlingstein
@

This imo is the prettiest at after W11 in recent years

@tonyy.8852
@

Why did they release this with Ricardo's number 3?

@bruteht4655
@

Really wished he’d do this when they show the actual car

@randingo117
@

DGAF they're all complicit in virtue signaling 🏴
We already have Formula-E FIA has gone off the reservation.
Driver Chassis Tires Motor 🏎️ 🏁
You want next generation technology Hydrogen. Electric motor technology is 1900's this is the 21st century.

@andrewskillz98

can't lie, it'll be worth doing an analysis for the cars at R01, I feel some interesting thing will appear
