I had a turbulent childhood, watching men come and go leaving my mother a mess for me to clean up. I married very young to escape. That ended with his addiction. This song had just come out and it really made some sort of impact, I remember crying in the car to it. When I finally left, I ended up in a short and abusive relationship. I gave up dating.

That's when this perfect man came along. I was only looking for a friend, but we fell deeply in love. And 19 years later we have a beautiful son.
