Ranked In Marvel Rivals Is A Trap! The Problem With Ranked & Why It Doesn't Matter- Season 8.5

I reach Platinum is barely there and so far it's a horrible experience; I've recently been on a losing streak and just the final match that we gonna lose someone disconnect at the end of the last round and we'll they don't even put me the note of "hey someone disconnect so we not gonna take so many points" nope they take all the points like I play completely fine without a player and with that I honestly couldn't take serious the competitive of this game if things like this or similar just continue so I gonna play just for the fun or trying be better but expecting matches that just gonna end bad

I’ve made it to eternity multiple seasons, solo queue, it is identical to all the other ranks other than the fact everyone is mechanically better. You still have people who make mistakes, throw etc. my peak is rank 207 overall on console. I tell my friends, get to GM and just hangout there - that’s where the game is still “fun” with some competitiveness. Anything above is just overinflated egos and bs

Hero shooters are the worst rank system in gaming imo starting off in paladins the rank system only really favors long win streaks but u are forced to rely on teammates so much that it make the experience frustrating

I quit this game a long time ago the moment I found out the game is farming your attention. I went on 5-10 win streaks and 5-10 loss streaks literally every single day back to back all the time and its literally documented and you can read it online. I don't understand why anyone still plays this game

No lies i hit GM on pc and console and just recently i went on a crazy win loss streak like 7 wins and then 9 losses straight honestly made me mad. not to talk about the people i ended up on teams with but it just felt like the rivals gods wanted me to lose placing players that couldn't play at that level on my team

I been playing this game lately again no matter how good I do sometimes the game is un winnable I don’t think that makes this a game it makes it a simulation

my friends all play console and im on pc so my peak is gold for a comp skin 😭i tried again this season and i got throwers in 5/7 games so i havent even finished my placements. im definitely an average/casual and get 30fps so gold is around my skill level

I always tell myself I am not skilled enough to be Grand Master and that I need more skill. Then I hit Grand Master and day I'm not skilled enough to hit celestial yet. This keeps me from getting upset and pushing for a goal rather than focusing on what I need to do to win the game. It also make me not take it personally when I lose. Someone said a bunch of rules or they'll throw. I said idc about your rules I only or who you play. I only care about skill. They got off window and locked in. I guess to show off their skills 😂.

Don’t ever instant Que. especially after a loss. Idk if it’s tilt or just pure matchmaking but whenever I climb rank I take 10 minutes in between every game. When I instant Que I ALWAYS derank. It’s very sus

If you are hardstuck gold, and you put in more than an hour a day, you deserve to be lower. You can hit grandmaster just by playing over and over, you should expect to have about a constant 60% win rate. If you have less than that you probably are past the rank you deserve. This game gives you MORE elo than you lose usually its +4 to +9 more at 24 to 27 for a win, and 19-21 for a loss. This means every time you win one lose one 4-5 times you have won 1 match. At a 60% win rate you're more oftan than not win 2 lose 1ing. Now I will say I'm eternity peak, and gold was the third hardest rank i climbed through right behind cel and diamond. I steam rolled through plat i only lost like 2 matches. Diamond i had a ~80% win streak until d1, and then zig zagged. Gold was genuinely a hell hole rank, inconsistent, smurfs galore, people exiting mid game, throwing(not as bad as diamond, diamond players are dogsht and have massive egos. They hit diamond and think they're good and talk down to you not knowing you can smurf their peak easily.)

Set aside your personal admiration for the Marvel franchise and STOP supporting this CCP garbage. You're being manipulated to play a game that does not care for your time as a gamer and works only to keep you engaged for their benefit.

You’re on the money that this is a very entertaining hamster wheel that they have us all on and I can’t seem to get off probably because I really like Marvel characters that’s how they have us all

But the truth is that they are very simple solutions to many of the issues with the game and they simply refuse to resolve those issues with makes you know that their purposeful and in order to distract us, they instead give us more characters rather than fixing the game because they don’t wanna fix the game because in their eyes there’s no issue to the game. The purpose of the game is to keep you on a hamster and it’s perfect at doing that.

First of all this game punishes you if you’re a solo queue, shouldn’t you get more points if you go into a game on your own rather than with a team of people, you should get more points for that not the same points. They created a game that’s supposed to be a team game but then encourage people to do whatever the hell they want pick a lane is it a team game if it’s a team game then you should get points for doing things that help the team and if it’s not really a team game, then whether somebody throws should have no bearing on how well I did.

Well I’m glad someone else gets the I’m gonna “swap till it works” mindset. The only thing I really don’t like about ranked other than matchmaking is the games are just so long in ranked it gets exhausting.

I don’t know, man as a high celestial player in GM diamond there are people that I honestly believe should be in gold and platinum. There are people that are boosted in the rinks that throw your games even if they don’t think they’re throwing.

Every season I hit Diamond and then I stop, haha. I could probably hit GM again, but the grind to hit Diamond is awful and I don't want to suffer more to get to GM.

There's no future for this game until the introduction of a role queue. Balanced match-making is impossible without it.

Rivals is my first hero shooter ever, went through the brutal grind of learning everything. Hit Celestial 3 now I’m a super casual at the game, i hit my goal now I’m good

Maybe I'm different but as someone thats been in Eternity lobbies and yes I admit...i have made alt accounts to help my friends climb from lower ranks, i feel personally like a majority of these ranks are the same. The major difference is the amount of toxicity that lies in each rank as you climb. Now I just run quick match with the boys and haven't touched ranked in a while ever since I clocked that Rivals is a game for funsies and not to try hard and sweat your butt off to get into top 500 UNLESS that is your main aim. But honestly; please DO NOT take marvel rivals seriously as I did in the first half of this games life....it wasnt a fun time😂

As someone who plays ranked since the game came out and reached grand master 3 times solo Q i can tell you ranked is insanely rng luck based and ur skill means nothing insanely bad matchmaking and miserable experience solo Q even if u get 35 final hits u lose it just makes no sense bcs ur team is just dog water just do yourself a favour and find good group or duo minimum dont do my mistakes i lost my mentality already with this game

This celestial 1 player deranks because this game is live service. They derank because if they're left unchecked and don't play for 2 seasons, it's a brand new game. Live service means content treadmill. They queued every day and peak at C1, but that's their PEAK. So in reality they're more likely a Gm2-C3 player. These Eternity/OAA players can make a new account and be back to their rank if they play their normal characters I.e no challenges or whatever in under a week. This C1 player could make a new account, and be back to GM in under a week. You say ranked is a trap, when in reality tying your self worth to your rank is the real trap. Again, you said it yourself, is a video game. The number one priority should be having fun. Not every single player has "fun"with the competitive mode

I never got into WOW, LOL, or any of that crap but god do I hate having a bad game or just maybe my stats falling a little behind everyone else and just like home boy said everyones ego looks at the score and I am so sick of being bullied for arbitrary stats. Maybe 1 person is falling behind and lacking cause the team as a whole is not working together well. IMO Rivals has I real balance strategy, Black Widow is bad because she is annoying, BP is bad (in higher ranks) because he is annoying and that's valid for most "bad characters"
Magik is not nerfed despite having high WR because she is not annoying
And the new characters are really good because they want people to play obv, I still remember Blade's launch and everyone freaking-out because he was not broken on launch

I’ve always said during the match remove everything on the scorecard except ult progression. Too many people will side quest in a neighboring county for a single kill and cry the whole time for heals.

Tbh I went celestial solo Q an I found it harder playing with teammates but guys all the complaining is annoying they are humans. I’m a first time viewer of the channel. You and I are so similar. I bet if we duo queued we’d hit eternity. We both have climbed in this game in a similar way. We aren’t necessarily mega cracked one trick players that just instalock and hard carry. We take
The analytical approach. Using game sense to our advantage, and the hero roster to constantly play an optimized comp. I have 16 lords, can play about 20ish characters well, and I am a peak celestial 2 controller player on PC. I have a full time job as an engineer, I’m 30 years old, and I almost exclusively solo queue. While I have felt like the matchmaking is against me at times, I’ve also had so many games that seemed impossible to win or impossible to lose and it ended up happening. I’m a pretty firm believer at this point that every game no matter what is both winnable and loseable no matter what it seems like after the first round. It’s all about staying positive, rallying the team, and getting everyone to make the right swaps.

I reached Diamond before concluding that Rivals ranked sucks.

The level of ego and throwing once you hit mid plat+ just made me hate it.

In the beginning I thought ranked would have the players that want to win. My patience always ran out in Gold. Ranked has the same terrible problems as QP but with a penalty.
