Public School In The 90's
Video Overview & Insights
The 90s were wild. Stay tuned for the Pizza Hut Book-It! program.
My school didnāt have cubbies and it sure as hell didnāt have a ācoat roomā š my school was one story tall with the tiniest little shitty parking lot ever and like, NO funding. We kept our book bags next to our seats.

As a former young boy I remember when like every month we would move desks and having to clear out my messy ass desk was always so embarrassing š

As someone who got paddled K-2nd in the 2000s, I had to enjoy a rueful smile at the disclaimer that school's weren't doing that in the 90s.

As a student from 2008 in Canada, I had like all of these things. In kindergarten, I had my own little coat hook in the hallway outside my classroom, but the next grade I now had a cubby. In second grade, I had my own desk where I always kept everything organized. Student graders was still a thing in my high school. And finally, ātheā pencil sharpener is still a thing. Almost every class I had in my school years had one

@SlyCastanetoYeah those coat rooms just vanished after 2020
@Texan-U5AIf youāre looking for an idea for 90s kids the substitute
@wingknigt69443:55 As a person in high school right now yes we still have those XD
@EgoPlays2This is hilarious because I work at a school and this one time I was in the classroom and our electric sharpener had fell on the floor or broken or something like that and I told the kid to use the old-fashioned pencil sharpener and he tried to pull it right off the goddamn wallš
@EverettflurryThere's still those fuckass pencil sharpeners š they never work
@RistoJuroWow. Coatroom! Memory unlocked!
@cynthiachristman4110they do exist still but they arenāt built into the wall they are built into the counter
@henbenrulez984Pizza Hut Book It remained till like 2016 or so and that was so goated
@weilyonTOPGetting up to sharpen your pencil in the middle of a test is the childhood equivalent of taking a smoke break
@Stinkysmellystankthe pencil sharpeners are ever worse since theyre electric. they sound like a hurricane
@AzureSkyedRAHThe coat room. Where nicknames were formed, guy dropped a fart in Braniffs coat room 7th grade⦠been called āEggyā ever sinceā¦
@Mountainway774:09 There in fact are kids that still do this, I was one of them not even five years ago! We even had the exact model shown here in our classroom.
@Judges1516Corruption like an volcano fire but God is the Messiah or king Kong of plenty of wrong
@KurtisHill-g5o2gEruption
@KurtisHill-g5o2gSo true with A guy no an lie an likes some views liked some crediters like auctions like its eruption
@KurtisHill-g5o2gI still have the pencil sharpener and all the classrooms in my school, but we donāt use it because our teacher donāt let us do nothing
@JesusAndrade-x1ti have said "the pencil sharpener" beside my desk right now
@coffeeguy-y5p4:14 Iām in the 6th grade and they are still using them itās a legendary find if one is amazing but usually there shitty
@garrettrobinson9206You actually are my dad. Surprise!
@phoenixbillion1842I went to an elementary school that was straight out of the Cold War. Had a fallout shelter sign on the outside I shit you not. The school district retrofitted the building with modern comforts of the 2010ās like smart boards and badge scanners but, we still had those shitty communal pencil sharpeners.
@Autism-CreatureThe having your own desk part is so true for the boys desk I had a desk like that
@GavinJacobson-c9vyou had to rotate the pencil while you were sharpening it so it would sharpen evenly lol
@emi_carduiThe pencil sharpener is still a thing in some classrooms not all
@hunchoboomannever thought I would see the Gaussian integral in a Brewstew vid
@chapeIsI can confirm, "The Pencil Sharpener" is still a thing.
@CaptainoBrettIām still in school rn soā¦
There are no coatrooms, only cubbies or they just make you toss your bookbag in the corner.
I had my own desk but it really depended on the teacher. Also depends on how bad your class was cuz some people moved so much, they couldnāt keep anything in there.
We do have student graders. I try to change answers but goddamn, I canāt copy hieroglyphics so learn to write better.
The pencil sharpener is sometimes around. Some classes have it, like my geometry class where my ADHD ass was playing bob the builder trying to screw the one screw keeping it in the wall.
0:32 my middle school (catholic school) had the coatrooms in some classes. But it was technically a wood coat rack with a wall to divide it from the classroom. It wasnāt that secluded; you couldnāt do anything in there.
@chiawase123getting up to sharpen a pencil in the middle of a test was the kid equivalent of a smoke break back in the day
@reillo9You guys are wusses. Back in my day, we had a principal that use to walk around looking around to see if tour shoes was untied. if you where the unlucky one. He would jack you up and make sure you tied your shoes. Good times
@kelvingordon1384:42 "The" pencil sharpener isn't a thing anymore but we have electric ones now and they're just as loud and obnoxious as the old ones so
@EmPpArkthe pizza hut bookit was a deep ass pull we had it good
@annabanana4606We're the same age and can confirm my elementary school had cubbys and the coat racks were in the classrooms, not a seperate room. It must have depended on the school.
@gamefan062:27 Ironically, this is what girls do in their late 20's and 30's
@Doomguyexeas a kid who grew up in the 2010's and attended a 1950's school, coatrooms were still a thing
@cakeglobeThat pencil sharpener scard me in year 1. A couple kids in my class tried to use it to trim a boys finger nail. I remember sitting down until him and his friends finished hogging the sharpener but then he screamed and the teacher banned us from it. I didn't see the nasty stuff but just knowing what might have happened has crossed my mind every time I see these things. Btw Just discovered your channel because Google heard me complain about getting too fat. Love it.
@realitynightmareCoat rooms gave everyone lice in my second grade year. That was when we got trash bags for our stuff. Not even a cubby, a black industrial garbage bag.
@faithcloyd58305:04 my school has this but itās raisin canes
@BobbyanimationofficalHaving a desk was so much fun, we really did treat it like land ownershipš I remember when we moved seats, we scooted our entire desk to the new spot. Good times.
@texakenaThe picture of the pencil with the wood over the graphite gave my actual ptsd because that would happen to me all the damn time.
@Raven-mc4tuI have done all theses in elementary as a middle schooler rn
