Hamsters are not nocturnal. They are considered Crepuscular, which means they are most active at Dusk and Dawn however they are awake most of the night and usually run on their wheel which is why people call them Nocturnal.

They ABdolutely need to be microchipped and they WILL bite....just not put of aggression. Mine bit my nipple while running onside my shirt.

I got my 10 year old a hamster 3 days ago and he named him toast . We have seen toast for a total of 5 hours in the last 3 days as he burrowed deep into his cage and we have had him out twice in the last 2 days as first day we left him alone to settle in is 5 hours normal ? He seems to be drinking very little but eating fairly okay he is around the same size and looks very similar also . He had bit me once and my son twice and we are handling him correctly and have been washing our hands before and after but not wanting to wear gloves so he gets used to our scent , just to ask the bitting should stop after a few weeks ? I’ll be around toast long periods every day but unfortunately my son only on weekends will this take long for toast to stop bitting him ? Also your cage with all the plants in look amazing is there any chance in letting me know around about what you have in there so i could try and get the same iv spent about £160 in the last 3 days but want It looking like your cage by January! no animal should be going to the vet regularly. if you have an animal that needs that much specialized care, you are not helping science keeping it alive and weak in the herd. care better for your animals by not enabling weak ones. 🤣🤣🤣

ur hamster cage is very upsetting. if I was a hmaster I would fee lclostrofobic. u need to create a wider air space. ur cage looks expensive but its doesn't look like a comfortable place to hide. itsn to a museum for u its a hiding place for ur hamster maybe have is cover by a wall in the back and more espce to nburrow so its no near see thruw glass

I've had several hamsters and bred three litters. If you're confident in handling them the issues raised in this vid won't be an issue.

I spot clean my hamsters cage a lot everyday but the thing is ever since I got him (my Syrian) he smelt like rotten eggs, he still does 😂 I hope he doesn’t mind me saying this 😢 I love this video so incredibly much ❤ I don’t know why but your voice makes me go to sleep 😴🤣 it’s so relaxing! I got a small question my Syrian bit a tiny hole in his cage about a month ago, before buying a new cage I decided to change the setup and now he doesn’t bite a hole in his enclosure anymore. So should I upgrade my cage?
