My tip would be to stay at Park MGM for the non-smoking factor and take the free tram to get close to Center Strip.

We (Enrique and Melissa) are a fun loving married couple who love to travel. We end up in Las Vegas quite often and go to the Cancun area a lot too. But we are looking to venture out into the big world more. Melissa took up travel hacking as a nerdy hobby and is working on ways to travel for FREE or next to nothing! Please subscribe to our channel to follow us along on our travels and hacking journey.

Enrique and Melissa, we just subscribed! Looking forward to checking out more of your content. Our tip - don't schedule your day out hour by hour because it won't go as planned lol. We have been to Vegas many times but finally made our first Vegas Vlog... Check us out, let us know how we did. Maybe we will run into eachother someday on the strip!

Great Info as always! I would also add of a few of my own, it's far cheaper to visit through the week, transportation can be pricey, but check uber and lyft the prices can be vastly different, also use the free tram (park mgm to bellagio) it can really save your feet, and comfy shoes are priority over flashy...though flashy is nice if not walking too far. Water water water and drink even more water, it is a desert after all and easy to become dehydrated. Also watch this channel for other great tips and insights!

nip into El Cortez Hotel and Casino downtown an spend 10 minutes looking at the pics in their "History Corridor" before going across the street for quirky shops at Container Park, well done for including "The Mantis" there too at the end, great fun watching unsuspecting people jump when it fires up at dusk ! 😀......oh and a couple of hours away from Gambling, check out the wonderful "Atomic Testing Museum", East Flamingo Rd, a mile from the Horseshoe, great slice of history again !

DO stop for club promoters! I have never paid to get into a night club (sometimes you will even get a free pass for well drinks). DO bring your kids! My kids love Las Vegas and have been several times. There is so much for them to do, as long as you plan and do your research!

Comfy shoes and hydration!!! Forget cute. Seeing just one of the massive casino/hotel complexes on The Strip will result in thousands of steps, and the next property isn't as close as it looks. Bring the most comfortable walking shoes you own. And remember that you're in the desert. You're going to need to drink *a lot*. That foot long margarita is going to have you puking in a trash can if you don't get plenty of non-alcoholic beverages down your gullet. The suggestion to pick up beverages at the ABC stores/Walgreens/CVS is a good one, because you're going to need large amounts.

Avoid the street performers altogether. Don’t smile don’t acknowledge them. Don’t give them any reason to come and approach you. Especially the monks. Don’t worry about feeling rude.

Hello, Vegas first-timers! My tip would be to have a plan. Not minute-to-minute, but get an idea of the things you want to do, especially restaurants you want to try and make reservations. Watch a lot of Vegas content on YouTube, like this channel, for ideas. And have fun!

Love you guys. Great to see you. Only the other day Kenzo from laughing lion was showing us the guitar building on his livestream 2 days ago. It looks amazing so far. Can you imagine coming to Vegas and just stay in your hotel all day your better of staying at home then lol 😢😅😅

Another tip is to be aware that the classic fountain view in front of the Bellagio isn't available for a number of weeks around the time of F1. Although the side view is still accessible, I've read comments from people who were super disappointed that they couldn't stand in front of it. If that is important to you, avoid going around that time of year. It is such a shame that Vegas has allowed one of its best attraction to be disrupted like that. The choreography is designed to be viewed from the front.

My tiMy tip, no $20 tip to check-in staff will not get you upgraded from the basic room to a luxury suite. you do not need to fold the $20 bill between your credit card and your ID. Yes upgrades can happen but if you want to guarantee an upgrade have the rewards status to earn it or pay for it.

For future reference something that would help out noobs and regular travelers a lot is during your Vegas travels as you are walking through the various casinos, would be a photograph of the various signage showing current specials and happy hours specials. I get to Vegas every six months or so. By the time I hear about them on the interwebs, most have expired. Since you go to Vegas what seems like every other week, hitting us up with the most current signage for specials would be helpful. You don't even have to eat or drink there. Just a photo of the sign would be enough.

Last winter the Jack Binion's steakhouse at the Horseshoe had an all you can eat prime rib special. I showed up last January for it, and it was already gone. The specials can change so often, I scramble around the casinos looking for them only to find I'm a day late and a dollar short. I end up eating at places like In-&-Out on the Linq.

You can place the photos as an outro to your videos. "Here's the specials we saw on signs.", then do a quick slide show. Or not. You owe us nothing. Thanks for the videos! :)

Some of my personal advice for first-timers:
1. Make the trip for 4 days at least, and avoid weekends if possible. A "quick weekend" trip isn't a good idea for a first-timer. It will be more crowded and expensive.
2. Stay on Strip for your first time. Downtown and off-Strip hotel rooms are often smaller & noisier. That may not be something you're used to if you haven't been to Vegas before. Also, if your local casino is affiliated with Caesars or MGM, you may be able to get a larger Vegas hotel room for a discount, "resort fee only", or even fully comped.
3. Check out off-Strip and "locals" casinos. When people travel to other places, they don't just go to tourist places. Too many people never get off the Strip (except maybe Downtown/Fremont) and then they complain about Vegas being a "ripoff".
4. If you gamble, don't just play slots! Why travel all the way to Vegas and just play slots!? You can do that at your local casino! Try hand-held Blackjack at the Boyd casinos (Gold Coast, California, etc) or Craps ($3 at Rio, $5 at Palms, Ellis Island, etc), or even try Video Poker (many variations offer house edges of less than 1%!)
5. Try cheap food. South Point offers cheap breakfast (12-6AM at Coronado Cafe), Downtown Grand offer cheap lunch ($3 hot dog & beer or chicken taco & beer), SlotsAFun at Circus Circus offers cheap dinner ($2 hot dog, shrimp cocktail, beer, etc.). Splurge on a fancy restaurant once in a while, but don't make expensive and "celebrity" restaurants your main choice.

My tip would be to stock up on water and other essentials in ABC Stores, Walgreens, or CVS instead of the overpriced convenience stores located in the casinos.

The sign is the biggest mistake, waste of time

Congrats on your win at Slots of Fun Melissa👍 and I like the hotdog 🌭 you may be shocked to hear but I've never gone out to the Las Vegas sign...to preoccupied with gambling at the casinos and yes I stay on a budget. For first time travelers to Vegas i definitely recommend going to downtown to the Fremont Street Experience because it's an amazing vibe. Awesome video Melissa 😊
