LaMelo has one of the highest usage rates in the league. He was shooting a much higher % too. The fact all teams defenses can single him out.. and he's still able to score. While being the only person who can take/make shots. His %'s should eventually fall a bit. Since he has virtually no help. There isn't any other player in the league that can handle a defense like Ball. Outside maybe prime Steph and Kyrie. Being able to breakdown defenders. Imo he's been one of the best PG's in the league by far. Easily the best in the East. It's not his fault the Hornets have always sucked. Put him on any other one of the top team's in the East.. and that team destroys anyone. Think about him being on the Cavs, Celtics, Knicks or Pacers. It wouldn't even be a contest. They'd be the favorites to win the championship this year easy. He's completely unguardable and he'd make all those other player's much better. Haliburton doesn't even come close to LaMelo now, since this season. I'd be more than happy to swap PG's if I was any of those team's. The only argument the NBA would have. Is the fact his team isn't winning. So I completely understand why Brunson and Mitchell would get the start over him. I'd be more than fine with that. Because I do believe no matter how good the player. On some level the Wins also matter. However in his situation, his team being soo bad. I'm a bit more torn here. I believe if his shot %'s were a biy higher. It would be easier to justify him starting as well.

It's like the MVP race. Most are saying Jokic. Because by stats he's the most deserving. Although Shai is playing great too. While also leading his team to the best record for 2 year's now. Technically that should matter. However I think it will come down to how close the Nuggets can remain towards the top of the standings. If they drop off a bit more. It should become easier to give it to Shai because of the Wins. But since Jokic is hella efficient and gets triple doubles. It helps his case a lot. Because they also get a good amount of Wins. There should be a checklist of thing's player's need to be considered for rewards, or All-Star games. Imo

Damian Lilliard is a 2nd option putting up the same numbers at Brunson who’s the first option… I think it’s obvious Lilliard is better this season

I don't see LaMelo getting in as a reserve. For him it's either he gets in as a starter or isn't an all-star at all. I know this video was released a few days ago, but there's no way Butler makes the team due to his recent trade demands.
