Portugal is very special.

My favorite country....I love meeting the people and making new friends each time I visit. Thinking of a retirement there soon. Finally making it further up the silver coast this time then Porto for the first time. Will take the long train ride from Porto to Tavira which I fell in love with last winter.

We are currently in Portugal! We spent 2 days in the Serra de Estrela mountain region and I wish we had stayed longer! So amazingly beautiful! I’m glad we visited Porto once, but it wasn’t my favorite.

I love the Geres, are there campgrounds to stay at? I’m in nys recently retired & have been exploring here in our state forests, I’ve been to Watkins glen, letchworth park, & Robert tremendous state park camping. I’m relocating to Portugal in the fall, & I am so hoping to continue camping, but I am terrified of getting lost. I watch those missing persons in federal parks, & I really don’t want to go out link that. Ha. So is a really important issue for me. Geres is truly gorgeous, I have to explore it. Any info or pointing to where I can get it would be so appreciated.

In November 2023, I applied for Portuguese Citizenship through the route of Sephardic descent. Although I submitted an extremely strong application, with substantial supporting documentation, I fear my quest will be unsuccessful due to recent law ammendments making Citizenship applications by this route almost impossible to satisfy now sadly. Having said that, how wonderful it is that you have managed to make such a blessed new life for yourself in this most beautiful of lands. I am very happy for you Dave. The very loveliest of blessings to you always. Thank you once again.

Portugal is truly the world's living museum

I similarly love Porto. We just got back from 3 days in Lisbon (where I fell in love with Alfama as a more traditional view of the Lisbon of old), and 3 days in Porto. From the moment we arrived we were instantly charmed.

The Acorean Islands of Flores and Corvo are UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE! And the highlands of Flores are protected area like a park. The sight of the waterfall at minute 2.35 must be older, it looks very different today with 2 more steps at the top... I know because I am LIVING THERE.😊❤

Geres is not only "National Park" in Portugal. There is 10 Nationals Park, Geres is the oldest one.
