I watched this after having two panel interviews back to back. I am so glad I did almost everything in this video. And one of those departments I really loved the panel and the interview it self because I had fun answering the questions and they had fun asking it. One of the seargents at the end did tell me that I did good. I hope I get in.

27:00 Addressing Past Mistakes

28:30 What If You Don't Get Hired?

I’m not a U.S citizen.
I have so much trauma because I went through all types of abuse. I’m good now. But when I was a kid I called my mother who was in the United States 🇺🇸 to tell her I wanted to be with her. I had to make a tough decision, I left my country without telling my grandma about it because I was afraid of her and I knew she was not going to let me go. Once I got to the United States, I was 13, I landed to a broken home, I experienced domestic violence and had to go to foster home. My mom did drugs for 10 years, she is now 6 years clean. That’s how I filed for my green card, and now I’m a permanent resident. In 2020 I went homeless, I lost both of my jobs, I have bad credit, I’m a single mother raising a child. I’m in therapy, i’m in college. I can see people in the eyes when I’m having a conversation with confidence, but my weakness is since English is my second language, I get nervous when I’m speaking, therefore i’m scared of the interview. I’m currently doing lyft.
I went to a job fair here in my community, and found out that LAPD is hiring. Finally, my dream can come true but I don’t know if I will pass all the requirements. I applied TODAY and I’m currently watching YouTube videos and practicing for my exam.
Hopefully I do. Oral communication is my weakness. That’s what gives me anxiety.

Thank you for this video. I have started to gain an interest in Law Enforcement but know I am at least a year away from even beginning my application so this and other videos are going to be on constant repeat for me to prepare myself.

Thanks for the video. I'm currently 0 for 9 on my oral boards. Probably due to the lack of confidence & eye contact.

This helped me tweak my study set up so hopefully I'll pass my last oral board next week.
