It had been 3 years since we last saw each other! I was 10 years old when I first fell in love with him. It didn't last long tho; he moved to another city, but I didn't expect him to return the following year. I spent all that time longing for his return. Until he came back, when I was 11. And I fell for him over again; he was my best friend, it was almost working out, my mom knew about him, we weren't going to date, considering our age, but we would stay loyal to eachother, but he went away again. This year, I was talking to his motherβwith whom I have a great relationship, she always saw me as a daughter-in-law (and I saw her as a second mother, LOL)βand she told me they would be return this year; we're both in 8th grade. On Wednesday, I arrived at school, and a girl who studied with us said those 4 little words to me, "Eloisa, Matheus is back," and I felt my heart stop and then start againβI didn't expect him to come back so quickly. Trembling, in the verge of tears, I went to the class he was in this year. He was there, different but so much the same. When we saw each other, we didn't know what to do, whether to shake hands or hug. It was a messβhe'd extend his hand for a handshake, I'd open my arms for a hug, I'd extend my hand and he'd open his arms. Then we started talking as if no time had passed, and he gave me a lollipop, i went back to my class giggling and skipping, a feeling i haven't felt in years since he left. We haven't been talking much, given how he left and the feelings that lingered in the air after his departure. Whenever we talk, we get nervous; he, who is very pale, turns red, stutters, I tremble, stutter, we both get VERY shy and nervous. He came back, but all the feelings I'd acted as if I'd forgotten all these years came back with him, and maybe this time I can keep this young love from dying again. I feel alive again, now. This feeling is beautiful.
