I never pre-ordered a game in my life, but based on the first game, and these news...I think I might give in :D
Also while the whole intro speaks for itself in terms of awesomeness, may we thank the UI designer(s) too? The previous blue/white theme was okay, but the current pastel color palette is impeccable. It whole thing looks all so clean, super satisfying!

My biggest concern w/ this game is whether or not you're going to be able to release carnivores to the wildlife reserves and have them actually hunt for food.

The biggest problem with basically every zoo game ever is that they completely fumble predator/prey interactions.

The carnivores never have proper hunting behavior- they always just end up mass killing if you put them with prey animals instead of hunting naturally for food.

I am ~~really~~ hoping that changes in this game- an ecosystem is more than just herbivores. I wanna see wolves in the wild, too.

If we can't have actual, ~~proper~~ wildlife reserves with full ecosystems ~INCLUDING PREDATORS~ in this game I will be extremely disappointed- as someone who's favorite animals are 99% carnivores, I want to be able to see them live naturally in a "wild" setting just like the herbivores can.

It's one thing that's always frustrated me about the original Planet Zoo and JWE games... I like to try and build "wildlife reserves", with carnivore species... but it never works because there's never any real attention given to carnivores and ~realistic~ behaviors as far as hunting goes.

As cool as it sounds on paper to have actual wildlife reserves in this game, I worry about the implementation when it comes to carnivores, and knowing the previous track record................
