Fantastically helpful video! I bought PZ 2 months ago and just finished all of the Career Mode campaigns to gold standard. There were so many times I was overwhelmed and thought I might give up and just go to Sandbox because it felt like after the first 3 campaigns they just threw me to the wolves...literally! And as a senior citizen new gamer, the learning curve for everything gaming is huge!But when I paid attention I discovered that I was still being taught how to play this game, but with a lot of nuance. I kind of liked it actually!
I had been thinking about jumping right into Sandbox now to get a reprieve from all the rules, but after watching your video, I think Franchise is the best choice. Also, I've discovered that I'm a Completionist and earning Achievements is very satisfying for me!
By the way, I loved the Easter Eggs you shared. So funny! Do you have a video showing more of them?

I wish I watched this video first, I did go to sandbox mode first, lol, but I just got the game, and I can try the first baby steps now. Career mode here I come. ok i tried the career mode and I can't do that very well, there seems to be no real tutorials I have to go and watch other YouTube videos to learn how to do things still. So, I might as well do sandbox mode because it's all the same to me, I can't seem to do paths in career mode and it's not explaining anything, on how to do it. It won't let me edit the terrain to not have an obstruction for path. So aggravating, it shouldn't be this hard.

Yeah, so im doing tutorial right now and cant finish it because it wants me to put items into a lemer habitat, but says im not allowed to put items in the habitat after i researched them...i hope frontier devs get boils on thier butts.

wish i had the pc version im on console but use keyboard and mouse to make it a little easier, but even still its annoying if you select a building piece you wanna test out and decide you don’t like it the menu closes and brings you back to the top and you gotta scroll down again

Two years later, oh yeah. Swapping from Planet Coaster 2 to Planet Zoo, the pathing system SUCKS. Oh my god. I wish they'd update it! I understand that'd be too hard though.

Set up my first franchise last night. Without knowing what I was doing I accidentally made an aardvark breeding program. It is indeed profitable

@StevenHale-l1lWhen you place a trashcan right over a pile of trash, the trash will vanish and all negative moodlets on guests with it. Very handy if you cant afford many cleaning crew people yet i think.

@huntlow666Planet zoo is a simulation, management, building, strategy, open world game where you have to manage, create and expand your zoo by opening more exhibits, adding more diverse types of animals. It's a game that reminds me of zoo tycoon series.
@jayant8Most people start the game and jump right in without doing the careers. Yeah, hi, that’s me 🙋🏼♀️😅 hence why I’m watching this video. I’ve learned some things along the way playing sandbox mode, but I’m definitely going to go back and finish all the careers to get a better foundation.

@BomberBabe94Breeding newts and selling them in an exhibit can get you 100k in about 30 mins, no toilet, merch or anything else, good paths, bins and donation bins, its sick!
@dannypizzle1991See trying to play this on the console tho. Advanced Building so so difficult. Probably could plug in a mouse and keyboard might make it easier

I have played the Canadian Wildlife Zoo in Career mode 5x and I am finally making money. I was too impatient and wanted to add too many things too fast. My staff costs were outrageous. I'm still fighting the urge to add another Keeper but my guy is hanging in there.
I have to go back and watch the part about the paths again to make big areas. Mine look like garbage and were so frustrating to install.
how do you enable steam workshop? in my game, i do not have any items when i click on what you clicked on. Do i need to enable some settings anywhere? thank you
@Marge719I play on console and the controls suck. I can't even build a path around an exhibit.

@XievisTheDragonThanks I bought the game about 2 weeks ago played couple times and haven’t since but you have given some good advice I started off in challenge mode got up to the increase the zoo to 12 species and got stuck…going back to it tomorrow with a clear head! And now I know where to come if I need help …thank you

@DaynaNelsonI agree about getting stuck jumping right into sandbox but hey, there's something to be said for experimental learning. I never touched campaign mode because I was too impatient (and it would often crash the game) lol, I watched a ton of tutorials but mostly I just went into sandbox and messed around. Random structures and terrain modifications everywhere!
The sheer amount of building options can be very overwhelming, but I feel like in terms of creativity it can be helpful to learn to play around with all those options from the very beginning. A couple very creative friends of mine have struggled with campaign mode conditioning them to feel boxed into doing things in specific and simple ways, as if there's a "right" and a "wrong" way. I guess it just depends on your learning style :]
The thing is, I have played planet coaster for about 4 years. So when I started the only thing that I found difficult was the new features(souvenir shops, education etc.) And the animal habitats... I only got it 4 days ago and I feel like it's the only game I play, it never gets Boring.

@geminibuttsthis game have the worst career mod in any game i ever played. So, i`m sorry. i did try to play it several times, but always dropped it. So, try and errors, youtube videos and steam discussions is a way to go)
@artur39111This is great, but not everyone has the time for patience to be honest. I don't like giving that advice to people in that way. For example, if they are playing 2 hours a week, it might not be until 2030 before they get a chance to go into Sandbox mode by those rules. I say just let people make a few crappy zoos first, and then get the hang of things and be happy. (Because honestly, tutorials aren't perfect in this game either. Like a lot of people seem to get stuck just on the tutorials because the tutorials want to limit what you can do even among the things they tell you to do... along with some quirks and bugs that might not recognize right away that you accomplished something)
I mean, my logic for this is really if most people could be paid by making planet Zoo content, then it's worth that time investment, if it's just a game that is eventually going to be replaced by the next planet zoo or planet game, then play how you want! (Even if it is not the best idea)

@lilacst0rm_349Something I'm struggling with is the "select grid" option when I'm constructing around facilities or whatever. I can't figure out HOW to actually select a grid when i click the button. It's like nothing havppens.
