5:46 This part I don't really understand; why do mostly men have apd? Is it only biological men? Is there a genetic trait in the x y chromosome that increases apd?

Is this channel for children?

As someone with BPD and HPD, I wish this video covered it in a less negative light. We’re not all insane murderers.

@commonerscoffee.

I appreciate your ability to speak about ASPD in a way that doesn’t further stigmatize or demonize it.

Dissociative disorders ?

I also really appreciated the humor brought to this subject that is so immensely challenging and painful (esp for children of those with PDs). The reaction to the goat stuff had me laughing out loud!

Amazing video. And the animations were great!

His lessons are always excellent. The only problem for me when English as a second language is he speaks way too fasttttttttttttttttttt. Like surfing. Wish that you could slow down between your speed and those philosophers' speed. 🥲

The way you described BPD makes it sound like we're all manipulative. In my experience it's just a constant uncontrollable reaction to the fear of abandonment.

@Bugs3820
@

This was not a sensitive review of the topic. I'm shocked at the negative perceptions and stereotypes put out in this video.

@ohsnaptacular
@

I am not sure why personality disorders are presented here with this tone of voice, as if the person on the show thinks they are hilarious - I mean I know it's you tube and people want to be entartained but I find this conversation style inappropriate to the subject.
also the speed it is as if it needs to be rushed for some reason. Dysfunctional

@arcangiuletto
@

Me when he said my diagnosis 😮❤

@taybae2056

BPD is tricky. On one edge of the spectrum you have good people who are traumatized, in the opposite edge you have basically narcissm. Be careful with pity plays, actions will always scream the truth.

@raquelserrano2403
@

Your comments about the frontal lobe activity helps support the theory that a large percentage of prisoners have undiagnosed ADHD

@mattmo8648
@

There are allready a lot of comments down here so the odds of mine beeing answered is minimal but here goes nothing:
why is it so important for people to put things in order and try to fix somebody alse for steping out of line?
Can we just learn to addapt to other more different (or un-normal) people in stead of trying to change them?
Would that not proof more efficient? Given the fact that more primordial need for humans is to be accepted then aproved of....

very interesting thank you - if only you talked slower, I would have time to process it all much more ...

@RichardWHardwick
@

Talking about higher rates of criminals with these disorders seems misleading, especially when you also mention that they're often caused by trauma. Of course people who are from abusive, unstable households are more likely to end up in prison.

I've been a huge fan of Hank Green for most of my adult life, I never would have expected he'd be telling me about my BPD. Wild.

@garrettgallant715

The character when he's talking about histrionic PD is hilarious because it looks just like Miley from the VMAs with the buns and the bear outfit.🤣😆

I would like to see and ADHD episode as well. I have ADHD, and I wouldn't say its ruining my life or early affecting it. it makes it hard to do math, because, ya know, math sucks, and whenever I have to do it I get anxious and I start twisting my shirt, hyperventilating, and I feel an intensely powerful urge to move around, but I still am slightly proud that I have it, and innate to embrace who I am.
